And just like with those, Bioware didn't confirm it until official announcement.


Also, it's possible this leak was made on purpose, just like Arrival.

People were using this same arguement for 'The Truth' DLC that was supposedly leak just a few weeks / months ago. Although this one seems more likely and thus more legitimate, I don't mind waiting for official announcements on anything.

I was not aware of the Arrival leak having basis in the Alternative Appearance Pack 2, and only just now (elsewhere) read that Leviathan of Dis has basis in the Extended Cut. My mistake. Sorry. =P

That's true, and it wasn't exactly explained. But I think it's plausible to suggest that the Catalyst is sort of merged with their minds, and they take on its purpose, whilst maintaining individuality. The Catalyst explains that it's their collective consciousness, but doesn't elaborate on the above. I imagine when Shepard replaces the Catalyst, his mind merges with theirs into a collective mind (similar to a hive mind), and they sort of "become" him.

EDIT: Or they could have simply had personalities for the sake of the story. Either way, it's been confirmed that the Catalyst is an integral part of the Reapers, and not just some external entity controlling them like puppets. This allows us to dismiss claims of enslavement and the like, and feel secure in choosing Control.

I don't know if to find the fact Shepard becoming the reapers as creepy or cool. But I think you're right. We see Shepard inside the reaper in control's epilouge. If we won't take that as Shepard literaly being inside that reaper (which I don't quite believe we should. Even more creepy), it means Shepard is a part in the reapers. A part in their conscious.
