I'm not trusting star-kid, it's not that I'm not trusting BW *cough* or the whole build-up of the two other games. (Both of which by the way talk about destroying the Reapers, so yes, it's since game 1.)

You are, but I don't mind that at all.

All I'm saying is that some people, you maybe, maybe not though, have double standards.

....really? thats all you've got? I even made a kool-aid joke that wasn't completely terrible. And so I might maybe, maybe not have double standards?

I think this might be a testimony to what I just stated about common sense.

That's all I've got.

Anything else?

Synthesis is wrong and a terrible idea?

A perfect notion, but still need solid proof that was indeed Shepard, and questions about how he / she survived the blast must be answered

Though surviving the blast is utterly ridiculous, I don't see why people still deny it's Shep in the rubble after it was revealed the code says it is. (Also, why the heck would it be anyone else?)

In my opinion, yes. Disrupts the balance of life, uproots the very foundations of existence, replaces it with the Catalyst's ideal.

Might be a utopia, more likely it'll be anarchy.

What astounds me is that when u said that if u believe u must believe the entire thing... that is just simply not true, because if u did u would have picked synthesis since that is the most optimistic right?

Optimism is a state of mind. Believing what the Catalyst says is not prerequisite to you liking it.

I am not even sure if words like trust/believe apply here, when I picked I was just numb, I don't know s**t about the Catalyst, but I wanted to get to the ending, so I just did what I did according to the information given, u don't need to believe the Catalyst, it is irrelevant

If you're trying to make a case for one being more desirable than the others, you really do.

Who said anything about liking it, and why are u explaining what optimism is?

You said that if u believe in face value, then u must believe whole... so y didn't u choose synthesis? cos that is the best option, obviously u have doubts and/or u think that control is better

Do you remember what Indoctrinated TIM says as he's dying. How he descibed earth as 'perfect.' Even though it was occupied, and in ruin. Some systhesis fans have descibed their endings as 'perfect.' I don't know that they got it.

You said synthesis is apparently optimistic. Sure, maybe it is. But that's subjective, that's a point of view, and not a fact, and not my point.

You said that if u believe in face value, then u must believe whole..

I think you shouldn't pick and choose when you believe what the Catalyst says. Like I said, some people are perfectly happy to believe that destroy works because the Catalyst says so, but are all too quick to point out that you shouldn't choose control because the Catalyst shouldn't be trusted.

Double standards.

so y didn't u choose synthesis? cos that is the best option, obviously u have doubts and/or u think that control is better

That's all opinion. I argue with the facts, and then headcanon the outcome.

With control, Shepard becomes the Catalyst. Relays are more intact, Geth are alive, I can imagine the outcome.

With destroy, the Geth are deadand the Relays destroyed, that's the information you have, I could imagine the outcome, but I have less freedom.

I believe the only other members or previous members of the N7 program that every Shepard will have during the final battle is James and Anderson. Neither are currently members so they shouldn't have the dog tags. It could have been some random N7 member, but that would be pointless to show someone we've never seen.

Now how Shepard survivedthe explosion is something I really can't explain, unless he/she somehow got off the citadel before the big explosion. I can't see that happening though.

Of couse not! But he was seeing things. Like Sythesis Shep sees this ridiculous 'Adam & Eve'-'Joker & EDI'-in-the-jungle scene and she/he dies. TIM saw only what he wanted to see, the same for Sythesis Shep. Red and Blue Sheps are angery about their endings. They were imperfect, to say the least. That's because they made the right choice philosophically and were not fooled by the reapers.

@Mammoth, I am sorry if u feel that is a double standard, but they dislike control no more than u dislike destroy, u picked control because u think its the least of the three evils... that is same rationale that anyone uses, actually there is not much negative banter about control other than oh u are a control freak!!!, yet u keep hassling us about killing the Geth and EDI and the mass relays and that we are the evil ones, okay, that's fair, we all have our own reasons, say whatever u want

So u argued with facts, to negate what the Catalyst said, that is good, that also means u didn't believe EVERYTHING the Catalyst says, u believed only in part..."nah, control's better because blah blah blah", you thought

I appreciate the point you're making but I've never said or done anything like that.

Hassle? Think you're evil?

Bullsh*t. I respect the reasons why anyone picks their choice.

I support the destroy ending. In whole all the ending are pretty bad, but I felt like I had to finish what I started which was to destroy the reapers. I couldn't choose control ending or synthesis ending because it felt like a step back of my initial intentions since the beginning of Mass Effect 1. When I think of Synthesis I always think of Husk even if the ending shows a different form, it's just absurd in general. Control Its very nice Idea to become the thing you've been fighting against since the beginning. I just can't help to think Shepard can't really control the reapers his an emotional wreck in mass effect 3. If he can what if Shepard down the line sees what reaper mean to be true and start a brand new cycle? I don't know anyway that's what I think.

Well u kept boasting that life is so much easier with control, and that Geth and EDI live happily ever after on a destroy support thread like this one, it kinda hurts... I didn't want to get them destroyed but I accepted as a price to pay

U didn't believe synthesis was the best way to end organic/synthetic conflicts, and also I am *cough assuming that u believed that when Catalyst said destroy won't end chaos, unless u took control for some other purpose

EDIT: I understand that anything I say is quite futile to you cos the Catalyst never actually said synthesis is the best, it is only safe to IMPLY that synthesis is the only way to end chaos, I just doubt that u just believed everything the Catalyst says

Exactly

Whats stopping Shepard from becoming the next stupid Catalyst god child. People dont deserve to be herded like cattle and have there fates determined by one person. Nature is chaos and choas from making our own choices is better then being ordered around by machines who see organic life as a mistake they hope to harvest down whenever they feel like it.

Organic life deserves to be free

it also reinforces the idea that destroy is renegade which I despise, correct me if I am wrong

I found a Shepard quote that suggests he wants to control machines...
It's a Renegade option...

www.youtube.com/watch

It seems like Renegade Shepard is slightly more open to controlling the Reapers...
He still also argues for Destroying them...

I support it because it's the lesser of three evils. The ending is crap, but I came to destroy the Reapers and free ourselves of their imposing order, and that's what I did.

Eh, I see it as similar to destroying/rewriting Heretics.

I chose synthesis, but if I only had the others I would've chosen Control.

I pick destroy because, I want the little ****** that just tried to indoctrinate me to die. I believe thats what was going on in that scene with Shepard, TIM, and Anderson. I don't see how anyone could trust him after that.
