Don't know if anyone has posted this already or somewhere else, but I recently made a renegade playthrough of ME 3, and tell this guy who harases a store clerk on the Presidium Commons to drop it, and I realize it's the same guy who's been trying to get a refund in both the previous games as well.

When you overhear their argument, the guy says he doesn't need a new model, or store credits, just a refund, and the stoe clerk complains that he can't do anything without seeing a receipt, and that they don't even carry that model anymore. When I side with the store clerk, I learn of his obsession with getting a refund, and that the product in question is a regular ass toaster!

That takes me back to the first game, where I now realize that the same guy was arguing with a turian store clerk in the wards. The same thing: without a proof of purchase he can't get a refund.
And in ME 2, he is dabbling with a salarian down in zakera ward about this refund that he's been trying to get for two years now. It's the same guy in all three games!! Funny, and fun with a continuous story in this series. Posted Image

I hadn't noticed that but now that you mention it, it is rather amusing and cool.

Haha yeah I supported him too and even though the refund was like no credits at all. You gotta admire his persistance!

Darn, I was hoping this thread was asking how to get a refund at the Citadel... ;P

Yeah, if Bioware did one thing, above all others, greatly in ME3 it was the running-storylines, Conrad Verner and other ME throwbacks, and the running ME3-exclusive stories like the woman at the desk asking for her son, the Asari Commando in the hospital.

Better payoff than the ending.

Refund guy is awesome. When I saw him i was forced to help him after being a freak listening to his problem for the past 3 games.

I preferred his ME1 voice better.

Didn't he want an omnigel converter in ME2?

Having worked years at retail - I denied his request! There is a reason for receipts - suck it!

But yeah - I thought it was an omnigel converter - not a toaster.

Yes. Yes indeed.

I am hoping that the pantaloons that make an apperance in DA Gifts and DA2 Junk will lead to a similar ability.

I loved this guy, he gave me a good chuckle when I discovered him in ME2. Especially when he said he had been trying for 2 years.

I made a Paragon playthrough first, giving the guy a refund, and it made no sense to me how thankful he was, then when I played Renegade, I realize how persistent the guy was to get this refund, and I realize he's the one from ME 1. Made a lot more sense.

I absolutely agree. If you let Balak get away in ME 1, he comes back in ME 3 seeking revenge for the loss of his people in the Arrival DLC, and you can convince him to use their last warships in the fight against the reapers.

But I feel like they should remove the characters when you have made a choise like telling the guy in the refugee camp to get his ship out of the docking bay, or it gets blown to smithereens, he still remains at the casheer til the cerberus attack. I mean that makes no sense at all: his ship will leave, but he stays for several days and just stands there. MehPosted Image

Aye, that amused me also. He's been sent from pillar to post around the Citadel for 2 and a half years just trying to get a refund on a toaster!

He comes back if you let him live.

I threw Balak into a hole where it hurts even to breathe in Mass Effect 1, yet he appeared on the Citadel in the third game. Must have got time off for good behaviour or something.

Personally I did side with Refund Guy. I'm glad I did now since he probabaly died when the Citadel exploded.

It's one of those omnigel converter/toaster combos that the salarians manufacture.

Don't laugh. Haven't you ever been converting things into omnigel when you realized - "I wish I had a nice slice of toast right now."

Or Giana Parasini.

Or whatshisname, that member of Alliance Parliament who you rescued from the Biotic extremists. The one who specifically promises to help you in the future. Though, I guess he was probably just killed when Arcturus went "boom."
Which makes me soooo glad I saved him in the first place. Posted Image

I remember him well, and he even gets a better ending to his story than Shepard does.  I like refund man's story better than I like Shepards because at least refund man was shown some dignity.

Maybe it converts omnigel to toast! That stuff can do anything! :wizard:
