I'm not sure what you're asking.

Do you mean that fans of other characters aside from my favorite affect the way I see those other characters? If so, not at all. There's some characters that I don't particularly care for, but that's my opinion and if other people enjoy those characters than that's perfectly fine.

Some Talimancers have soured my love for Tali a bit, if that's what you're asking.

This. Not really because of their regular creepiness, but because if you mention another female love interest like, Miranda or Ashley. They go crazy.

No. I've had my opinions on things since the 90', thank you very much. M.

Not really. Bioware does, though.

No. But the most fervent fanbases seem to be dedicated to the characters I dislike most. Maybe it's a conspiracy.

I was OK with Traynor until her fanbase started posting how much better than Kelly she is.

I second this notion.

All the hate for Ashley and Kaidan really made me appreciate them. And I roll my eyes every time I see a mention of the "little blue children". Liara does not really deserve hatred, but this is still annoying as hell.

So, yeah, fans are effecting my opinion.

I know, right? I just don't get it, and it's so common, too. They jump in a thread and express vile hate for that certain character, then straight after they proclaim their extreme love and devotion for Tali like it's something they NEED to do.

This isn't exclusive to Talimancers, most LI's have extreme fans that tend to act this way as well. I admit though, I have seen a few Talimancers that make me want to bash my head into a wall.

Liaramancers have blue babies, Talimancers have 'sweatgate'.  I think we're all a little weird to some extent haha.

No, it only affects my opinion of the individual postulating silly things. \\o/

There will always be people who take things too far, act too zealous about certain things, etcetera. That should not ruin something that they had no hand in creating and besides, if they enjoy their take on a character, so be it.

Also, if someone wants to dislike a character, external sources of influence shouldn't be used to justify their dislike. That seems just as bad as the people who attack others over character interpretation.

Yes, they give me other perspectives of characters that aren't my favorite. Usually, good perspectives. The zealots I ignore. . .

Not that weird is a bad thing. It would suck if we were all the same (and sane).

I'll be totally 100% honest though, I have seen more "crazy" Talimancers than I have for any other character, and I know some crazies that populate various other character threads.

I think the fans ruin my opinion of the fan base more than the characters. Especially in the turbulent times we live in now in this forum.

Certain characters just ruin themselves.

Nah, only soccer was ruined for me by fans. And perhaps the IT. Other than that, no, fans don't have much sway over my opinions on anything besides the above.

This. This thread (some of it, anyway) is an excellent example.

This. Everyone is passionate about their favorite charater(s) and like to express it some more than other. Just take them in stride. The only thing I really hate is when someone seems to love the demise of a character. I find that wrong no matter what group they are a part of.
