I wonder how many sci fi stories you could just tear apart if you were this nit picky about everything. I'm not sure this guy is capable of enjoying any fiction that is currently out there.

Its not about IF you can tear them apart, its how BADLY you can tear them apart. And Mass Effect 3 had quite a tearin'.

A bookend is the support at the end of a row of books to help keep them upright.

The use of the term bookend applied to literature is used to support the content of the book. The setting, plot, themes, characters, etc. It is a critique of the narrative style, the sotry  and every other aspect you can think. It is supposed to be nit picky.

Smudboy is awesome as always.

I bet guys from Bioware watch this and laugh at all the stupid nerds who get worked up about video game endings and will probably never get laid.

Tell me I am wrong... Tell me Bioware doesn't think of their fans like this.

Most game company employees are in this mold too - obsess about video games, etc.

Watch the whole thing and it was worth it. He tends to nitpick on some really minor issues but overall the video sums up everything what is wrong with last 15 minutes of ME3. It has been like 2 months since i finished the game first and last time and that video reminded me how incredibly stupid and offensive to my intelligence that ending was well intro on earth to.

It was too long. He could have made it a lot shorter IMO. Then I always looked at ME like a 2-1/2 star/5 sci-fi action movie. Nothing too deep.

The saddest part is probably the clip of one of the people who worked on ME2 outlining "The Agreement." Four basic points that Bioware seemed to understand, and then they dropped all four of them. The fourth one about being the players' story is especially bad in light of them relying on artistic integrity.

I tried, but I gave up after about ten minutes. Smudboy is so smug and sneering; I could tolerate it if his observations were actually blisteringly accurate, but hearing him bang on and on about how a three hundred metre dash through heavy fire would have been made better if only Shepard used his omni blade to climb up Harbinger and cut his way in made me realise that I don't care what this guy thinks. About anything.

There's plenty of sci fi stories you could enjoy even if you objectively analyze the plot. If you think this is being too "nit-picky" then you're just wrong; sci fi is meant to illuminate real human issues and have meaning. If it doesn't then it's useless, nothing but sensationalism. If you can't get through a story without noticing glaring inconststencies and plot holes then it's a bad story.

I never was engange with Mass effect games for the plot. For me ME 1 was ok, worth it but nothing more. it was with ME 2 and his character focus structure wich i felt in love with . Now ME 3 ending in someway tell you " you know what, characters are not that important, the sci fy plot is" and is a big slap in the face

Yeah, we definitely needed yet another youtube video about the ending. I see the circle jerk of indignation has already begun.

This last one is because the writers had written themselves into a corner and didn't have a clue how to get out. In an effort to make the mysterious big baddies from the Cthulu darkspace they made 1) way way too many of them; 2) made them way way too powerful; 3) and essentially made it impossible for the player to win the game without some major :wizard: and gaping plot holes, and they didn't know how to wrap those up without looking even more ridiculous.

Guys a prat, and I'm never goin to agree with him about ME2, but he made some damned good points.

Also I laughed out loud when they had the guy from ME2 explaining The Agreement, given how completely and utterly the end of 3 ignores it.

...and then I felt very sad again.

lol @ the pile of dead bodies & the 1 Keeper poking corpses on the Citadel. I never got how that fit in, it's like Bioware just threw in random crap in an attempt to set the mood, regardless if it made sense or not

Nah, all you need is some sort of new weapon that will knock out the Reapers sheilds, given that the origional Normandy, a light stealth frigate, could one shot kill Sovereign when it's sheilds were down, finding a way to do the same to the others was all that was needed.

Hell, you could even have still had the crucible, just say it was designed after the first game using Sovereigns remains, and ME3 would remain 99% intact, you'd just know what the hell it was you were building and how it worked. No need for ancient space wizardry.

He makes some good points, but then again he nitpicks so many petty things its hard to take him seriously sometimes.

It does make me laugh though how anytime somebody makes a negative comment on one of his videos he jumps on them like a damn mother hen defending himself.

That's just Bioware being Bioware with their inane attempts at shock value.

I kind of agree. I think it would be better to have more concise videos that concentrate on the major flaws of the game. Regardless, this was another well-done video.
