on the rare occasion i play a krogan vanguard, its so easy. charge, then heavy melee, theyre dead. so easy to steamroll em with that class. otherwise, i only feel confident fighting them with my caster classes like the justicar or the quarian engy. otherwise i call it out and keep an eye on where they disappear so i can tell my teammate where she is when they get there to help.

Hey Drells! you have more than just grenades and a gun! so frustrating when they never use their most useful ability, reave. reave staggers, and it freezes the phantom for a second or two. spray bullets at them, or run away.

Oh yes because the manifest soooo shows the amount of games played, time played and what type of matches have been played.... oh wait.
The only thing my non-maxed out weapons means is that I play to enjoy myself, I don't farm geth on Firebase white 24/7 like some do.
Oh, winning nets you 6 Million Plus Credits now? I did not know that.

Try playing a quarian engineer with a paladin or something vs cerberus on gold. Phanroms will be a gigantic pain to deal with as you can land repeated headshots without doing any damage because of all their DR bs.
True. I also have a hard time with Turians and Human Soldiers. Batarians make most cerberus unitis a joke, except for the Atlas(can't really melee an Atlas, 80% chance of insta-kill after melee with the big guys).

A stasis bubble can stop the Phantom and a scoped Carnifex or lift grenades can quickly deal with Phantoms.
On bronze it takes two headshots to kill a Phantom in stasis with a Carnifex X
Silver three headshots, two for the shield and one to remove it's head.
Have yet to try this on Gold but normally trap a Phantom in Stasis for the Infiltrators to finish off with their Widows.

The AI in Mass Effect 3 clearly does not need line of sight.
Further to that - I have no idea how agro or threat works in this game. I'm completely unsure of how any given enemy decides on who it's going to attack. Anyone have any info on this?

Phantoms are like the biggest weaklings that are considered "bosses"

No ****, no one is saying phantoms are hard if you're using an asari adept.
For certain classes and weapons their damage reduction is annoying as hell though. And on gold they work a little bit differently + spawn in much larger numbers which makes the above even more noticable/irritating.

And she didnt go down.
And when I play sniper, sometimes I shoot her 10 times and she still just flips around.
And sometimes I hit her once and her head explodes.
Ugh, I just prefer to stasis them!

if they lose their line of sight of you they will go to the last place they saw you to try to find you. they will also continue shooting the area as if you were there.
its possible to run around the map and get behind the enemy to see them walking to where you were while still shooting like always but completly unaware that you are right behind them.
note that if there is someone in cover closer than someone out they will still go after the guy in cover. Also they reguard Turrents and Decoys in the same reguard.
Primes can shoot you while cloaked and Rockets from rocket troopers will home in on you like always. Atlases are the same way. that said they will still attack the easier target and if someone is closer and not in cover they will go after them.

i'm using an Asari Vanguard not a Adept, i'm better with the Vanguard then the Adept due to the Vanguards lift grenades.
Also one Gold the hand gun can shred your health and shields in seconds from the other side of the map.

typically enemys will go after the closest Player they see and will prefer explosed players over ones in cover.
Interesting. I have seen this and I have also had situations where this clearly as not applied.
I'd love a developer to step in and clarify how targeting/threat works in MP.

The thing I hate with phantoms on gold is when I stasis them at semidistance or far away, it takes 3 headshots to remove the barrier and 2 to explode the head.
But after the first health headshot she falls to the ground and it is impossible to hit the head at that distance with the angle.
So it takes 3-5 body shots to finish her off.
Carnifex X...

I think they wanna keep the enemies feeling unpredictable, it would be a bit of a bore to play the programming instead of playing the enemies so I am glad if they dont come out and share those details.

i really have no idea but i think enemy groups "distribute" their attention between targets within certain range limits so that every assault trooper wont focus on a single player from a hundren yards away everytime but if youre in their face theyre obviously gonna shoot youT1l wrote...

Use a paladin instead.
3 headshots to kill it (2 for barrier, 1 for health) if you have the right passives and a barrel 5.
looks like this:

why do people always talk about just stunning them??? i have a hard time doing this on gold without certain guns
Falcon rounds can stun them as can other certain high impact weapons.
Most Biotic Powers have high Force Bonuses and will always stun them.
Overload and Energy Drain can also stun them tho energy drain will usually only do so for a short time.
