One phantom should not be a problem in most situations, it's when two or three are rushing towards you, that's when you **** your pants. I have zero chance of survival, "I think I'm gonna turn and run like a little girl now".

Interesting. I have seen this and I have also had situations where this clearly as not applied.

I'd love a developer to step in and clarify how targeting/threat works in MP.

i really have no idea but i think enemy groups "distribute" their attention between targets within certain range limits so that every assault trooper wont focus on a single player from a hundren yards away everytime but if youre in their face theyre obviously gonna shoot you



this for sure. enough enemys on one player and others will go after another. its what affects decoy too.

i'll just throw all three of my AV's lift granades at them or stasis bubble to stop two of them then throw lift grenades.

Falcon rounds can stun them as can other certain high impact weapons.

Most Biotic Powers have high Force Bonuses and will always stun them.

Overload and Energy Drain can also stun them tho energy drain will usually only do so for a short time.

Novaguards definitely stun phantoms (on gold). Think ED only works if it's detonating a tech burst; same with throw, only staggers when detonating a BE.

Also, a phantom thats fliping, is a phantom that's not attacking.

I love my Falcon X and its really light for both my Asari Justicar and my Turian Sentinal.

with it as a fallback to stunlock and otherwise using powers is part of what makes me love those 2 classes.

my vanguard doesnt. if it does you cant take the multiple target bonus in charge or half blast in nova which are in my opinion the two best abilities

its about as heavy as a saber if they are the same level

I left more value than you, dickwad. Drell light melee stunlocks phantom and yes, they are the most predictable unit in this game. They always move towards the player in straight line, always try to dodge warps, always take cover after losing the barrier, always cloak while in cover, always melee before inst-kill(not necessarily their target).

Hunters flank players, stunlock and are invisible most of the time. Banshee teleports like crazy and insta-kill randomly.

And since we're on the matter, Phantoms have less life than any other boss units, around 4000 hitpoints. Hunters have more, marauders have about the same. 

This is a forum, you can just ask instead of being an ****.

The Asari vanguard is my favorite character too, but I don't play her exclusively. 

On subject, this game is very easy even on gold. I hope they don't change a thing about the Phatoms, sync kills, or stun locks. If all these common complaints were changed, I literally would not play ME 3 because it would be a joke game with no challenge. The computer should be cheap that way the reward for success feels oh that much better.

havent managed to get a Saber yet and considering thats UR and therefore unlikley to get to X....

ya i stick wtih Falcon or Revenant X. Stunlock or DPS

would love a Saber X tho. but really.. RNG.... im not that patient....

On gold (yes I play on gold, don't even bother bringing up my manifests,) I have no problems dealing with one or maybe 2 phantoms with a human vanguard, charge, heavy melee then shotgun to head, maybe charge twice depending on how close the other one is, if it's more than 2 though, there isn't much you can do other than resort to rockets.

i cant be sure. if you only base your judgement our manifests i am definitely more experienced

a manifest includes all the weapons and what level they are that a player owns. you can go to their profile, click on games, then go to manifest. its an effective way to guage a players experience


ROFLMAO I know what a manifest is.  It was your ridiculous insertion of it into the conversation that led me to wonder what the **** you're talking about, since it had not a thing to do with the point.  And no, it's effectiveness in guaging experience only goes so far.  Personally, I couldn't imagine actually clicking on a person's profile to check their manifest.  I think it's kinda pathetic to be honest.

phantoms are the only unit that make playing cerberus on gold fun. Every other unit except perhaps the turret could use a buff to make them more dangerous. But phantoms are still not the smartest AI esp when they stop moving/shooting a few feet away from you. I would love if the bioware made the phantoms more aggressive than they are.

a Drell isn't Chuck Norris or the Geth Hunter so no
Chuck Norris would only need to kick a Phantom once to remove it's head on Gold

it was actually very relevant to the conversation. manifests show you how experienced a player is in most cases. the more experienced you are the more experience you have with phantoms. you asked if i was more or less experienced with phantoms. i gave you the best possible answer based on the information available

No, not it's not. and pay to win is why.

As for phantoms, while it's "interesting" the BW keeps making the females the uber units, (AA, Banshee, Phantom, AJ ) the phantom is a bit ridiculous on the ranged end; not slightly out of balance or somewhat OP, but completely ridiculous. Seriously, why field anything but engineers and phantoms. TIM would have taken the citadel in record time. Why does a stealth CQC unit have the highest ranged damage in the game?

they stop shooting because theyre coming at you for the melee when they get close. atleast thats what happens in my experience

all the phantons i've ever fought never went at me and tried to slash me to death,they just shot me 3 times with their hand cannon and i was dead on the ground while she stood there taunting my body >:(

and when they get close they just instantly kil you without doing anything itsi nstantaneous their sync kill,they could only do that when they meele you so you had time to react by rolling backwards or...walking to the side (problem brutes?)

i play on gold a lot and i gotta say a very good way of kiling a phanton is trying to trick them (yeah) actually if they're after you make it so that they are being shoot at from your team on their back and if you can try to stagger them with an ability if you have one (makes your life and your teamates lives easier)

they're on the same annoying level as the banshees are for me

they both got a cheap insta-kill
they both have a devastating long range attack (i've had a banshee hit me with that little warp of hers by the other sie of the map...im not joking)
they're both scary

i just hate the banshee more because she makes my ears hurt by screaming


and i hated this operation weekend because i had to fight both phantons and banshees at the same time 
(it was not a good experience i'll tell you that)

I didn't need to 'contribute' because I was not the one making a claim as to how easy they are and how masterful with them I am, now was I.  It was because he DID in fact make such claims with no other purpose than to make you look stupid.  So I defended ya, not realizing that you weren't worthy of it.
