We were leaving stasis out of the equation here ( is the obvious power to use) and talking about how to kill them with other characters besides the Asaris. Weapons that stagger definately. Mellee if you are very good at it . I understand that when they do the glowing palms in the air routine they are immune to all powers..but I could be wrong.

I obviously HS is not the best character for taking down Phantoms but this what I do:
1-on-1 on Gold you can kill Phantoms with Concussive shot and some saber rounds. You need a roughly +80% cooldown. Saber shot, CS (phantom flip), saber shot,CS (Phantom hlip) at somepoint the CS will KO the Phantom and you take the satisfying final saber round the head. Its fairly easy, just don't let it get too close. Also, you need to do some flips yourself (combat roll). If there are 2 or more... run for cover and try to take them out one-by-one from a distance.
Aside from the almighty GPS which is the ultimate Phantom buster (but otherwise a boring gun), Hurricane is also pretty good at taking down Phantoms. I hate Phantoms so much that I have a HS character specifically specced just for mowing down Phantoms with a Hurricane.

Right, everybody else is just imaging it. But hey, thanks for learning us good. And good luck on the whole "meleeing something that loves to sync kill as much as a banshee" thing. I'm sure that's a sound strategy or something.

Other day I was playing a geth on a match and someone got killed by a phantom. Hunter mode of course let me see what was going on, and it was quite shocking. The phantom had meleed him (but not instamurder so he was revivable) then went around the corner and hid in cloak mode. She was corpse camping him and if I didn't see her with geth wall hax I'm sure I would've gotten Aeris'd for trying to revive him.
You know I just had a thought.. considering so many people are claiming to have no problem killing them and others only barely scratch them with an ICBM, I wonder if there's a platform specific glitch with her damage mitigation.

I play a Krogan Batlemaster and have a Krogan Sentinal i am bringing up and i use a M-99 for EVERY character. The M-99 is awesome because it hits hard enough to stagger most opponents, and it even staggers phantoms. There are conventional means to deal with them, these ways may not be as safe or easy they methods however are still effective. Give me some room and a clear shot and i will ring thier bell but if it gets in close that is a different story even for my Krogans when alone. They require respect and that is a good thing. They require you to be on top of your game, that is a good thing. They are one of the few units that can couinter the player's "i win" button, that is a good thing. They require team work, team effort, that is a good thing. To nerf them because they are difficult, is a bad thing. Adapt improvise, evolution baby catch it, or get run over by it.

Do other Cerberus units, especially the atlas, need to be re-evaluated when they fix phantoms? Definitely. But that doesn't mean phantoms aren't broken. The fact that virtually everyone is scared of phantoms and nobody pays any attention to atlases should be the first clue that something is dreadfully wrong with Cerberus.
The Phantoms are the most OP enemy in the game.

What bothers me about Phantoms the most is that they sometimes seem to be invulnerable despite not seeing their shield show up. That, or their shield is just hard to notice from a distance.

i dont know if you play gold or not but proxy is a power that almost always forces them into their blue hand power on GOLD for me. trying to energy drain them to death is a complete waste of time. there will be 4 to 6 phantoms at a time. i dont know the exact numberSeneva wrote...
Bah Phantoms are fine. As an SI I actively hunt them and fail maybe once out of 10 times. I don't use PM or shoot when she uses her hand and when she cloaks, I laugh cause 1 PM fired from cloak hurts like hell. most of the times I just kill her with ED and PM with cloak bonus. Easy.

I don't see a problem with Phantoms. They're usually dead with one W98/BW shot after ED on SI, or S on QI. Incendiary ammo + Targeting Mark 3. On GI with Javelin & PM combo Phantoms are easier to kill then Centurions.

Phantoms are the one unit that adds a bit of fear into cerberus . Everything else is a walking joke. Guardians ,Troopers, the Atlas, and Engineers are all free kills. Phantoms are the only challenging thing in that whole bunch.
You see a phantom in a group, take cover and call it out on your mic.Have your team focus fire on her. Problem solved.
Each enemy faction needs that unit you need your team to focus on.
I know this has been brought up a ton of times but If the phantom is too hard then switch your main class to Asari adept . They are the anti-phantom, ok they are the anti-every unit, lol!
I disagree, your class set up is just not suited to kill Phantoms, simple as that. If you have poop team mates who won't help, then you are out of luck man. I don't think the answer is to nerf phantoms so they are easily killable by everyone. Either get some people who can help kill the phantoms, like someone with stasis or deal.
Lots of BE's work well for me.
