Ok, before I get started, let me say I already promoted 6 characters. So no, I am not butthurt that I won't accomplish a goal for myself.

Now, I've just noticed that Operation Shieldwall was a short event, from Friday 5pm PT to Sunday 5pm PT.
This would have been acceptable ON ANY OTHER WEEKEND. This was MEMORIAL DAY weekend, many people were either out of town with family or having a family based weekend and wouldn't get on until TONIGHT.

This is unacceptable. And before you say something like, "Well that's an American holiday, we don't celebrate it here."
It's a holiday for remembering our Armed Forces and their sacrifices, I'm pretty sure other countries have similar holidays. Oh, and BioWare is associated with EA... an American company, and BioWare has an office in America as well as many, many, many American employees.

Sorry, but this is not acceptable. And why was this weekend the only "short" weekend event. Most go until Monday morning, in fact many people are USED to these events going until Monday morning.

BioWare, I am officially disappointed in you. This IS NOT cool.

Sincerely,

Staff Sergeant Talon Westfall
US ARMY 1st Cav Div, Fort Hood Texas

EDIT - The point is that the information on the event was located in one spot where the timeline for the event is concerned. And with no notification anywhere else that the timeline had changed from previous events. And to compound the issue is that there was no link to this blog information for us to check. I'm pretty sure the majority of players don't visit the blog. They either check the announcement thread here, or they get the splash screen on their platform/s of choice... neither of which contained this information.

The ball was dropped. Plain and simple. And THAT is what I am disappointed about most.

Hmm, this does sound a little odd.

We don't typically cut events off at 5PM on the Sunday.

I will find out if this was intentional or a slip of the keyboard fingers.

PS - I feel your pain Talon.  I served 20 years in the Canadian Forces myself.

Ok folks,

After a quick investigation I discovered that, yes, the event was scheduled to go until midnight mountain time.

Any characters promoted after the 17:00 (5pm) posted time up to the actual midnight deadline will have those characters counted towards their total.

Cheers!

Since I'm reading this 20 minutes after your wrote this on Monday morning - are you confirming the event ended on Sunday Midnight mountain time?
