I don't understand why this guy seems to be passing this off as some affront to his patriotism and service.

I spent 8 years in the Australian Defence Force, Army, and am now a Police Officer and if I couldn't take part in Operation Shieldwall due to my duty I'd suck it up and get on with life. This is unbecomming of anyone who serves their country; it's a goddamn video game. The OP made me feel genuine rage. To include your rank and pass it off as grounds for preferential treatment is downright insulting.

Pump up.

Very well said, man.  Cheers from USA.

Ok folks,

After a quick investigation I discovered that, yes, the event was scheduled to go until midnight mountain time.

Any characters promoted after the 17:00 (5pm) posted time up to the actual midnight deadline will have those characters counted towards their total.

Cheers!

Since I'm reading this 20 minutes after your wrote this on Monday morning - are you confirming the event ended on Sunday Midnight mountain time?

Ahahaha, way to fail, what the actual **** were you thinking when you wrote this? That you're significant enough to make a huge corporate business change their schedule, because some random dude is off celebrating warfare?

Like some smart guy once put it, "Humankind is an animal elevated in his own selfspun webs of significance". Jesus christ, way to fail.

Get some respect punk.

I would love to see these wimps saying that the military is bad go to war and try to defend their country.

What are you to demand anyone's respect for anything, when you yourself fail to respect that people have different views on things? Yes, that post is incredibly provoking, but try not to lose perspective because of that.

I have no intention of defending my country or going to war. And I don't necessarily respect people who go to war, because it's so very against what I stand for. So no, I won't moderate.

Oh, how I wish I could respond to this without getting banned.

In my opinion it would be so worth it.

I would bro-fist the mod that banned me for it because that means I did my job telling that guy what's what.

People die EVERY DAY so that you can sit at home and disrespect them and their ultimate sacrifice over the internet.

It might not agree with what you stand for, but fighting for their families back home and to end oppression worldwide was what they stood, and fell, for.

If you are not willing to fight for your country, why should your countrymen die defending you?

Unless you're in one of the Forces, I'd step away from the keyboard and stop typing. I've had mates die in the Army and I've had mates die as a Police Officer. We know what we sign up for, and we don't sign up for pitty or preferential treatment.

I didn't get to promote a third character until today.  Banshees are still appearing as of right this moment, so if we still have to fight Banshees whilst going against other factions, then shouldn't the challenge still be active?

Thanks.

While you make valid points, I completed the challenge in 5 minutes. I knew I was going to be visiting my family so I leveled my characters up before hand. Also, it wouldn't be fair to shut down a weekend event for the rest of the world either.

Considering it take a minimum of 15 minutes to complete a Bronze and a quick Silver...you sir, are a liar XD

Considering the bolded and underlined sentence... you sir, just got owned.

The bold statement is besides the point
A single game takes a minimum of 15 minutes. So in theory, it's impossible to complete the challenge within 5 minutes as one game takes 15 minutes. And at a minimum, two games of silver (providing you get 250k EXP during the last few levels) it'd take half an hour at the minimum to get up to the next level.

Now if you mean that you had them all at level 20 before hand. Then yes I have got owned XD

Please bring this discussion back on topic, i.e., the multiplayer event this weekend. This is NOT the place to discuss military or foreign policy, nor one's personal views of war or military service.

To get back on track... I think it's too much to ask of them to have to scour through lists of holidays. And it wouldn't do much good either, this is a game, not a job or something you have to do.
And if you miss out on an event because of a holiday, be glad you had a holiday in the first place. And, if you miss out on it, the only reason to complain is if you actually play 24/7 and use all of your time for playing. Only then can you actually start talking about lost game time. And even then... It wouldn't really be a bad thing. :P

I haven't read through all the posts in this thread, but from what I have read...........

Sometimes you just have remember you are on a VIDEO GAME forum and remind yourself of the mentality of some of the people you are dealing with.

To the OP and everyone like him, thank you for your service, and to the military men and woman who can't read this.....thank you for your sacrifice.

but most do go into Monday so why not this one?

also, it's a stupid pack just give everyone that played the thing and maybe they will drop their latest game to play more ME3 instead of trading it in for MP3 or GRAW

just lock it already, it's only gonna cause more trouble. Even the actual topic is loaded with things that will cause more arguments, the OP should make no mention of memorial day, as that was not the issue, his issue is that the event ended earlier than normal. This won't stay on topic.

Really does anything here on the BSN?...

It states it on the announcement thread that it lasts the 25-27th instead of 25-28th.

But what Country or Continent has more sales for this game than the US?

PC/xbox/PS3 in the US total sales vs the rest of the world ?

Normally I 'assumed' the US has the most purchases of this title but that's just a guess. IF that's the case then you tend to lean towards the largest user base.

If this is correct then........

Total Units

North America: 1.40m 62.9%
+ Europe: 0.60m 26.8%
+ Japan: 0.02m 0.7%
+ Rest of the World: 0.21m 9.5%
= Global 2.22m

so basically there isn't even a point to the whole thread? other than starting a flame war of US vs the rest of the world.

why not change the weekend-operations to 2-week "achievements"...

because what is it good for, having an operation for 3 days, and waiting another 11 days for the next one?
just give people at least a week to fulfill the operations, and this whole thing becomes much more family- or military-service-friendly (whatever you prefer)

If this thread is just about the Op then it's redundant as we've already got one, if it's just about people's opinions on foreign policy then surely it doesn't belong here?
