They run them every 2 weeks, this one happened to fall on a weekend when the minority of the player base had a holiday. This weekends was even a really easy one you could plan in advance.
I would be far more upset if they failed to have an op BECAUSE of memorial day
I think you're confused at to what the word "minority" means and entails. The American audience is actually a majority of the playerbase for BioWare games.

You're actually named Talon?
Yes. I'm actually Native American also.
My name has both an English meaning and a Native American meaning.
One other thing I would like to add is that this BSN community is actually the minority of the players and there was no notification of what times it would run on the event splash screen on Friday. So people who don't visit the blog had no idea of the times it was running.
Hey, looks like we have a bit in common, also in the army with native blood. Irish/Native. I can take a beer, or 12 pack for that matter like a real man. XD

sticky thread in this forum, though.

Lots of people here in the US get Monday off so that they can celebrate Memorial Day. Why shouldn't Bioware employees be allowed off too?
You have a point - it would be unfair of us to expect the team of people that they would absolutely need on-site the instant the promotion ends, who will then manually shut down the promotion, and begin a manual head count so they can distribute packs, to have to work on a holiday. There's no way any of this could be automated.

It was a typo, I was also in the middle of a game while writing that between Waves. Sue me. I'm human and make mistakes, but thanks for pointing it out for me, never ceases to amaze me how people are able to talk trash over the internet safely behind their screens.

Thank you for your appreciation.
And I'm not mad, just a bit disappointed. Disappointed that it was a short weekend, I mean... it seems like a HUGE oversight to me.
I mean... why? Why make it a short weekend event? Shouldn't Holiday weekends be given a few extra hours in all honesty?

I understand the world doesn't revolve around America. But BioWare is a "dual citizenship" company that is both American AND Canadian. They have MANY American employees, and it's actually a rather large holiday here.
I would expect any country to honor their military, and celebrate their holidays and for a company from that country to celebrate that holiday.
But obviously you have an anti-American bias and in particular something against someone who lives in Texas. However you seem ignorant to the fact that the military will send someone where they are needed. It's not like I'm from Texas.

I was thinking about how many places I've been because of the military, and for me at least, when people ask me where I'm from I say I was born in New York but I'm from everywhere hehehe. I think it's easy for people to forget how large the US is, even if they live here, but especially if they don't.

Lucky for me I already had all my characters (at least one in each class) leveled up to 20 so I got to promote the 4 least liked ones. I never did get my geth engineer up to level 20. After 12 bronze matches its stuck at level 18 for now.

Wait… the event is already OVER? I never saw a start and end time posted on either of the Operation threads so I figured it would last as long as the others have. Why have it cut short than the other operation weekends?
Again, I think Bioware anticipated that a lot of their employees won't be at work tomorrow, and rather than risk more problems with people not getting their packs and handling the fire from that, they would just make the operation a bit shorter. If that's the case, I can't really blame them. It's a holiday and I sure as hell wouldn't want to go in to work tomorrow just to grind numbers on what is essentially a 100% optional event for them to host.

I promoted 3 yesterday, but I promoted more 2 one hour ago, to help to achieve 50.000. I didn't knew it was over. Bioware should at least let clear that the date changed, with an ATTENTION advise .

Nope, again no start and end time from the post in the announcement forum: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/324/index/12200998/1#12200998
Both had May 25-27 the same as the previous weekends (Friday-Sunday)
Why do you think that they would require anyone to be at work for something that would be counted by a program subroutine set up? You don’t actually think that someone has to sit around and count all the kills from a weekend even like last time manually do you? Or that they have a work schedule like most places of employment where someone is scheduled to work over any weekend and holiday. Do you think the EA servers or any game company that uses servers (like Blizzard’s World of Warcraft) will shut down because of a holiday and the company didn’t have anyone scheduled to work then?SimulatedSnowman wrote...

I'm pretty sure Memorial Day may have been the reason they made this weekend's challenge so easy. You literally just had to press 3 buttons.
And in regards to people saying that it takes time to level characters, we knew well in advance of what the requirements were. If you knew you were going to be busy, all you had to do was level up 3 characters beforehand.

Even without the start and end times though it still made clear sunday so all the talk about Monday is kinda moot anyway no?
And since we're still getting banshees, even the link above with the times MAY be moot. The operation may still in fact be active. I did see some sites that said until 5 am tomorrow, while an obsure one claimed 5 pm tomorrow. So who knows?
