Summer isn't here - most likely they will announce it at E3 - until then we have a cliffhanger.....not an ending.
So we can't get the ending we want after all? v2.0

Well... They have been running according to what EA demands... And I doubt that BW can rebuild their fan loyalty... It takes years, to build something but only seconds to destroy...Laterali wrote...

Except all were initial commercial successes. DA2 had a pretty large pre-order population, basically because origins was amazing and people expected more of that. It wasn't until after that everyone was like "WTF?!" and sales started to dip.
Same with ME3, had a pretty good release day due to pre-orders, and then people were like" WTF!?"...
And I'm pretty sure SWTOR broke pre-order records, and now people are like "WTF!?!"....
But by the time any of that happened, they already had emptied all our money into their swimming pool and dove in like Uncle Scrooge. To them this is good business.
I have a feeling DA3 is going to do terrible pre-order wise. I think people that actually stick with Bioware are going to be much more cautious due to their recent releases.
I think BioWare is going to have to build their fan loyalty back from the ground up. They've done a lot to demolish it the last few years.
Just like the ending of ME3

Yes, I understand that from the title. But what do you want to accomplish?
What does any poster on any of BSNs boards hope to accomplish? Hopefully whatever they personaly set out to do, in this case its not a tool of pressure on bioware, its too late for that, and its not really what we did not like about the ending, thats been done too much, its general discusion about the ending and developments relating to that, and hopefully we can have less hugs and more topic this time.
The world needs more hugs, Biggles.
Regardless, if that was really was the reason for the lockdown it would have happend thousands of pages earlier. No, the reason for the lockdown was both specious and unknowable.

Lots of fun, discussion, speculation(still hate that word) off-topicness and on-topicness was had on that thread... Kinda weird that it got shut down when it was moving to on-topic... Especially with the lvl of off-topic all the other times...Goodwood wrote...

Personally I hope DA3 will do terrible when it comes to pre orders and then if/when it turns out the game is actually really good, the sales start increasing again like happened to Origins. No more first day purchases from BioWare for me any more that's for sure, I don't trust them enough for that any more.

The point still stands. All the DLC so far has been free. I've never understood Hold The Wallet.
There has only been one DLC to date, with a second releasing tomorrow. The DLC has only been related to MP. The only things readily given in said DLC are the maps. Weapons, characters, and equipment can only randomly be attained. And the characters can continue to be awarded even when there is nothing left to be gained from said characters. Sorry, MP DLC isn't that great
If BioWare gave us more game modes for free, your point would be valid. Horde mode gets tedious after a while. Expanding on a feature no one really wanted in the first place isn't that great of a deal. Lots of clinics have free needles. However, I don't use IV drugs, so there is zero benefit to that offering. Give me free ganja and either a way to clear my system or make it illegal to not hire me just because of a positive UDS, and I'd feel like you've done somethign for me. Adding a deathmatch mode and some competitive objective scenarios and I'll thank BioWare. Until then, they haven't done squat for us. So I won't likely be giving them a dime, be it for MP unlock packs or for some future SP DLC.
That all being said, should BioWare change their tune and offer some sort of post-ending DLC, I would consider paying for it. I'd vet the DLC through the forums to see if it actually improves upon the ending. If so, I'd grudgingly shell out the money for it. In fact, I'm willing to bet that most of those dissatisfied with the ending would pay for a new one. So it becomes a question of what EA values more: profits or Casey's "artistic integrity". I'd be very surprised for them to take the latter option. While there may be economic justifications to not produce a new DLC, I doubt support for Casey's work will ever be a major concern for EA again. He killed an otherwise profitable IP that can only be resurrected by blatantly disregarding the creator of said IP. Even if Casey ends up directing another EA game, it will only be under very close corporate supervision.

Given that they already asked how many people believe in the Indoctrination Theory at Hold The Line, I think they realised they can't salvage the ending. They're now probably frantically looking for anything to work with without having to redo practically the entire game. That's why we haven't heard yet. Writing some extra cutscenes and dialogues doesn't take this long (making them might would, though, but you'd be relatively sure about what you were putting out after three months).

However the coup de grace of this whole mess has been the silence on BW's part. I could understand it right after release but to continue that pattern even today says a lot to me about how they view us as costumers. To be honest I have no hope for the EC cause they have already told us what we are getting yet I will at least give it a chance.
Going forward BW/EA has lost me as a day 1 buyer and maybe even a bargin bin buyer. The quality of there games has dropped off so much so quickly that they are no longer worthy of me blindly throwing money at them like I use to happily do. This does not make me happy but rather sad since BW use to make games that totally fit what I like to play. I am afraid that the type of game I love has seen its ship sail.
