I see people spamming it like they desire carpal tunnel and RARELY do I see someone charge for more than the first shot before a wave.

However, I just read people 'outscore' others in gold with it and I was hoping to know how.

I read that part in the 'useless guns' thread. :innocent:

Speaking in hypotheticals here. How hard does an Arc Pistol X charged shot hit for on...say, a pyro, or phantom, or even stuff like brutes and ravagers? The class sporting it would be 1 of three(just for more hypotheticals): Adept, Sentinel, Vanguard.

I don't really like the gun. When I used it though, I spammed the **** out of it. Charging is something I'd rather do with a Graal, GPS, or Kishock.

Charge when convenient and you're pretty sure you can get a headshot. Otherwise, rapid fire for higher DPS.

Tried Arc pistol VII out against Cerberus on Silver yesterday. Two charged headshots kill Centurions, one charged hs. takes down assault troopers. It was quite good against Phantoms, 2-3 charged shots took down their barriers. However, as I noticed, spamming shots was more effective against Atlases than charged ones, but the Arc pistol isn't an optimal weapon against bigger enemies.

I love the arc pistol, especially on my quarian infiltrator, especially for the possibility to switch the firing mode.
His main advantage is that you can use it 2 different ways, aka charged or not, so alternating its 2 firing mode can prove to be quite useful.
Basically, you can deplete shields with a charged shot, and then you can finish your target by spamming it.
It all depends of the situation you are in, the arc pistol isn't meant to be used only in a charge mode or a spamming mod.

Charge it, always . Use rapid dire only to finish off stuff.

I have trouble being accurate at close range, so I generally just rapid fire on enemies that are up close. But I make extensive use of fully charged headshots at range. It's a OHSK weapon for most of the peons when shields are down. And since it bypasses shield gating, you can usually take down even the tougher non bosses like pyros and hunters with 3 charged headshots, even on gold.

I treat the Arc Pistol like an inferior Carni or Pally, charge and pop but having a spam option is good for finishing off little red health bars and it's much better at bringing down barriers and shields than other heavy pistols. It's actually one of the most versatile heavy pistols around. Jack of all trades pistol.

I never charge any of the guns with said options. For one thing it uses more ammo that way, and the extra damage is not as important (especially if you miss).

To avoid this you can use soft cover(Standing behind objects instead of going into cover)
