I don't really use these forums ever, but is it normal for so many people to show they have a problem logging onto the game and the developers to not say anything?

Not really... maybe they think because Xbox players and PS3 players can still play that the players that run the game in PC/windows7 cant play the MP because of probs that they have in their PC´s. But if thats the case... Its a big mistake..... There is a lot of PC players that cant link up with the mass effect server :/

Wierd of them not to say anything....

Meh, no story fixes, no EMS fix and no text chat. :(

If it isn't clear by now the MP is the ONLY thing they are willing to fix.

At least they're doing a decent job at it thus far.

It's like say you hate your step mom...but she still makes a wicked banana cream pudding. She's already a part of your household, might as well eat it and enjoy it.

That's how I feel about BioWare right now.

That anology, nothing has ever been that correct.

Welllllll..... In my case She mayde the puddin and locked it away...In a safe...down in the basement.....of the local Bank :S

I dooo whant it...but in single-player I cant pass boss reaper :/ I was always a RPG player never muche of a FPS/TPS player. But did foud out that I was actualy good as a suport (engenier) player in the MP...until the 1.3 came out...now I cant connect to the server. Soooooo... No PUDDIN... not even a spoon of it :/

five minutes takes too long, it's too easy for people to just set a timer and come back every five minutes. two minutes is a nuisance. If you're getting booted, then you're not moving enough. Also, for the record, only if you were already at extraction before the eleventh wave started could you possibly be booted before the end, as extraction only takes two minutes. And if you don't move that entire time, then you're either a really bad player or afk.

most players in their right minds like this fix because it stops a-holes from going afk during games, especially gold ones, and possibly losing them for us.

Do you really think people are going to sit there and go afk and come back every few minutes to make sure they don't get booted? They're going to rubber band their trigger or tilt the analog stick to spin in a corner or something. Not really hard to put your controller upside down and make sure it's got an analog tilted constantly getting input.

When people don't want to play, they're going to find a way to not play. The only people who will likely get booted are people who aren't trying to afk.

You don't always HAVE to move or do anything during extraction, especially on easier difficulties. You act as if everyone does gold only and needs to be really intensive for every moment?

I've not seen anyone actually get dropped into a game in progress (don't you lose credits for waves you didn't do?) and unless you're playing with friends you're not really going to see an afk person get replaced so all you do is miss a person with a slot available in case you can invite someone, which could quite possibly get you booted while you're trying to invite someone.

yes, I have seen people do that in other games. I've done it myself, though that was auto-mining in Minecraft, which is perfectly acceptable.

I have also seen it done in me3 since the patch. All they have to do is slightly move the mouse once every minute and a half and they've basically made a bunch of credits for free. Using this method, they're free to watch tv or read books or whatever they want to while making credits.

if inviting someone takes you two minutes, then something's wrong with your computer

if you're not going to move at all for two minutes, then don't complain about being booted. What's the point of playing if you're just sitting there doing nothing? -on a sidenote, they gave everyone fair warning about the afk system. If you're not going to be careful, that's your fault.

and by the way you're wrong, people get replaced all the time.

I just want to say that the 2 minute kick thing is the stupidest decision I've ever seen on here. I have been kicked from TWO games while waiting LEGITIMATELY. One was on the EXTRACTION WAVE WHILE I WAS SITTING BEHIND A WALL WITH EIGHT SECONDS LEFT. What the hell? Seriously?

I'm not normally one to complain but this is seriously beyond stupid. I lost out on 70k+ credits because of this stupid auto boot thing. And I'm not afking or anything. Waiting for enemies I can hit? Sitting in extraction waiting for the timer to go down? Hell, getting to the extraction and waiting before the countdown starts means your two minute countdown has already started. This is so stupid having to micromanage my controller input just so that I can make sure I don't get kicked from a game.

Instead of really fixing anything, we have this 'patch' which introduces a ludicrously short auto kick timer for inactivity. You can't wait until you're about bled out to pop your medigel (you will simply not use it or show your character standing like an utter idiot while it kicks you to spectator and wastes your medigel) and whatever other wonderful things we've got here. Jesus, if you're going to introduce autokick at least make it respectable like most games and do 5 minutes. At least that's enough time to take a ****** and come back without getting booted if you really need to. I can't even sit in the extraction zone and wait without getting booted (which happens quite often depending on where enemies spawn and how teammates are behaving).

Well, to be honest that never happened to me. Maybe to prevent being kicked while lying on the floor bleeding out, you should hit the A-Button (Space-Bar on PCs I guess). This should reset the timeout-counter, because hitting a button isn't inactivity.
I am also wondering how you can sit for more than 2 minutes WITHOUT MOVING AT ALL. Even if you are in a perfect sniper nest waiting for the enemies to approach, you should take a look to the left or the right a few times to make sure there are no bad surprises (invisible Phantom or Geth, unexpected spawn close to you etc.). I also wonder which difficulty you are playing. On Silver and Gold enemies definitely do NOT need 2 minutes to come into sniping range, no matter which map we are talking about. Haven't played Bronze in a while now, but I'd be wondering also if it would take 2 minutes to approach you.

Last but not least 5 minutes would definitely be too long. An efficient silver match takes about 20 minutes. 5 minutes of inactivity would mean AFK a quarter of the match. Plus the additional waiting time for a replacement joining the open slot. If you need 5 minutes to go to the bathroom during an important wave (like 6 or 10) I wouldn't want to have you on my team, to be honest. Sorry.

I think 3 minutes might be acceptable, but 5 is definitely too much.

Just my 2 cents...

thank you :)

Fun fact: Not everyone plays on PC. Have you tried inviting people on a 360 to see how long it takes with those wonderfully long menu transitions and everything? It takes at least a minute to invite someone readily available. That's not at all including the time it takes to scroll through your friend list. You need to get off your little PC high horse there buddy (hint: the game is available on PS3, PC and 360). The experience is NOT the same from system to system.

And I've not seen a SINGLE person join a game in progress and only my friends join a game in progress to play with friends, you lose out on credits that way and who the hell wants that?

Last but not least 5 minutes would definitely be too long. An efficient

I would find 3 minutes MUCH better, but you're also talking about an efficient silver match. You can't quite have one of those with a missing person. Most silver games take about 25 minutes.

And as far as wanting to afk and doing it by giving input anyways, it likely takes someone more than two minutes to GET UP AND LEAVE THEIR SYSTEM AND GO TO THE BATHROOM AND COME BACK. Plus, why the automatic assumption someone is leaving on wave 6 or wave 10? Why not assume someone is doing it the other ~80% of the waves? I actually HAVE gotten up and gone to the bathroom right after finishing wave 6 or 10 or whatever. It's not like the timer kicks in for those waves specifically or anything.

Hasn't been fixed. Using an Asari Vanguard today, and I was still dying after I had charged. Also sometimes the charge doesn't initiate - same with Biotic Sphere on the Asari Justicar. I'm clearly pressing triangle, and for whatever reason, maybe I'm too close to the enemy, it doesn't activate.

i've had the second problem often after the patch.  idk if it's just that im too close that the enemy is meleeing me (stopping the power) or cuz of the lag that i've been having tho..

Well with afk players I would understand, but that would get out of hand. Booting a player just because they're bad isn't really fair, and there's no way to limit that. I mean wouldn't you be pissed if you spent half an hour playing on gold and got booted on wave eleven or something, losing all of your consumables, credits, and experience because somebody just didn't like you in general?

I guess they could make it so all three people have to say boot, but a lot of poeple wouldn't catch on, wouldn't care, or would do it for the wrong reasons.

It would be helpful, but also very inefficient and unfair.

Don’t know
how but last night finally entered the MP lobby J

However it was like: play one match, next match
connection down in mid action L Did notice one thing ; in a match just before
my connection went down I saw another player vanish/leave, of course I don’t know
if it was because he lost the connection first or (this did came to mind later)
the match went down because he chose to leave the game. If that’s the case then
if in a match someone leaving its causing the crash of the connection to the
server, then guys… you better find some hard players that don’t leave a match
and or don’t have some lousy internet connection….otherwise when he/she leaves
it will cut the connection for everyone :/

This is why I keep saying "democratic republic, not tyranny by majority/pure democracy". There have to be enforced constraints, or this game will very very quickly become crap for anyone but those on the "in list". For example, not being able to vote to boot someone with contributions to damage done, or especially something like rescues. Things which prove the attempt to help. Constraints could change between bronze and gold, e.g., there could be no stopping someone from playing bronze based on level or weaponry, but gold could enforce in public games things like maybe level 12 minimum, or certain weaponry, or some modification where lower level works if weaponry is better. One could also do the reverse, e.g., the system could auto vote to boot someone based on lack of participation, and then players could vote yes or no to go along with it. It would work both ways. But pure vote? That's a disease in a game where people can treat each other like crap because it is over the internet, and they don't have to know each other...it happens, and should NOT.

It is a software issue, good connection will not matter. When it says someone has left, this is rarely the truth...what it is really saying is that the software was inadequate, and a disconnect occured because of it. When the hosting player is lost (whether the host leaves on purpose or because of software failure or real network issues), a new host has to be found. About the only possible way to get around many of those failures is to have everyone on the same local network which is tuned for large UDP packets.

Anyway, this patch is TOTALLY useless ( PC version)
I have a question, for xbox and ps3 users.Has this patch fixed that bugs?
P.S I haven't any problem connecting to servers.but sometimes there are some major lags. Come on Bioware you are ****ing up everything
P.S.S yesterday i saw the E3 EA conference only for see if there was new mass effect news but nothing T_T
