Would it have helped if he had said Mountie time, or Snowbunny time, or Eskimo Pie time?

Frankly I'm hoping for an Eagle III, because someday when I have an Eagle X and they finally make it awesome, I'll be laughing all the way to the bankjerrmy12 wrote...

They have GOT to switch to making the time announcements in UTC. I keep repeating this at every operation, but saying something is starting in PST (Pacific STANDARD Time) when no place in America in the pacific zone is even in Standard time right now (They are in PDT (DAYLIGHT) time) just makes it more confusing. Because frankly, it seems like even though they are saying STANDARD, the events actually start at the stated hour in DAYLIGHT. And now Mountain Standard Time, with the same issue that most places in the Mountain time zone are actually in DAYLIGHT savings and not STANDARD.
And yes, I know the whole world isn't America, which if anything reinforces my point. Use UTC to list times and avoid confusions caused by Standard/Daylight or anything else.
Indeed.
Or make it even easier. Add some sort of mission timer, which shows you how long you have before the challenge will end. Now this timer could be similar to what there used to in store with PSP's and Jumbo packs, when we had them only for a one week at the time. This system showed us when the packs will expire and when you can't buy them any longer. Because of this people knew exactly how long they had time to gather credits and buy those packs.
Now Bioware should be doing something similar with these challenges. Add some timer in MP menu, which shows you how much you have time before the challenge will end.
This way people would know exactly, when the challenges will end and you wouldn't need to deal with PST or MST or any other timezone issues or post multiple post in forum to ask, when the challenges will really end.
Of course this is a suggestion.
I think we can tweak this suggestion further with an even simpler solution if it means the coding is easier and it's more persistent. This is done in Eve Online. Do away with countdown timers, and put in a persistent clock in whatever timezone Bioware chooses to display, operation weekend or not. Then include the time details of that operation in the op splash screen when they come up. This could be placed in the main MP menu and lobby screen at one of the corners.
There's more of an advantage to this than just keeping in check op times; it also enables friends or players across different regions to easier meet each online according to the "game time" and there'll be less confusion. Hopefully these means the least legwork for players to calculate timing and for players who don't have ME on social networks or visit the site minimally or at all, all the essential information would be available in game.

I agree, ''Server Time'' would be a perfectly clear time zone to communicate with. Wouldn't even need a timezone converter for anything then.

I agree.
"Alliance Time" & counters on operations.
Nevertheless - I think we overkilled this operation.
I promoted 5 out of 6 classes during the weekend. I reckon that there's a bit more than 10k players who promoted >3 classes.
So I'm pretty sure we nailed it at the start (I had two classes already prepped for this) - as stated before, I reckon lots of people had at least 1-2 classes maxed out already on Friday.

PS. If you give the pack to us poor fools who promoted twice, then you're OK in my book.

I hope you did more than just promote them. That will not do it.
There is no clear, concise definition of what they want for the weekend objective. I am pretty sure it is not simply to promote threee classes though - this is hardly worthy of a weekend objective. You have to raise that character by more than 20 levels - thats what they mean.

That's probably not true, since the last time they had an event like this with promotions, only the promotions counted and not if you raised a character 20 levels on that particular weekend. So if you saved up LVL 20's and promoted them right after the start of the OP, you should be good.
