Promoted my three on first night within two minutes. I hope I get something geth related.

I hope you did more than just promote them.  That will not do it.

There is no clear, concise definition of what they want for the weekend objective.  I am pretty sure it is not simply to promote threee classes though - this is hardly worthy of a weekend objective.  You have to raise that character by more than 20 levels - thats what they mean.

That's probably not true, since the last time they had an event like this with promotions, only the promotions counted and not if you raised a character 20 levels on that particular weekend. So if you saved up LVL 20's and promoted them right after the start of the OP, you should be good.

I agree - I think they set it so low (50,000 promotions vs. 150,000 the last time) because in part they are also introducing new DLC on the same date, so this gives more people a chance to get some of the new DLC from either Victory or Commendation packs. When they did it last time, it was only to promote two - no re-leveling, no set builds or characters to promote, just promote. I had quit promoting, so all six of mine were at 20 on Friday, and all went up. So I'm excited for the DLC!

I think we can tweak this suggestion further with an even simpler solution if it means the coding is easier and it's more persistent. This is done in Eve Online. Do away with countdown timers, and put in a persistent clock in whatever timezone Bioware chooses to display, operation weekend or not. Then include the time details of that operation in the op splash screen when they come up. This could be placed in the main MP menu and lobby screen at one of the corners.

There's more of an advantage to this than just keeping in check op times; it also enables friends or players across different regions to easier meet each online according to the "game time" and there'll be less confusion. Hopefully these means the least legwork for players to calculate timing and for players who don't have ME on social networks or visit the site minimally or at all, all the essential information would be available in game.

Now that would be perfect.  I'd get behind that more than I would my UTC suggestion.

Your source please?

It means choose any 3 characters and advance them past level 20.  I got that sentence, and that sentence only from Chris Priestly in reference to the same question we brought up here.  I will bring this thread to his attention.

If you have any questions at all, please bring them up to him or ask him in these MP forums.  He's a great guy and a lot of help.  We aren't buddies or anything, but he takes to time to help people like me who ask for answers to seemingly obvious questions.

By bringing all of this up now, we clear it up for the futire - making it esasier to get future objectives.

I thought you could only go up to level 20? I have never seen levels up than that? I did all my 4 from level 1 through to 20 and today I played a game with a level 20 and it never went any higher?

He meant to promote the same class over and over.
But wrong. It's just three classes.

Oh my. I was pretty disappointed I missed the cut off at 5 PM PST (checked 7PM PST) on Sunday night. Now I find out I really could have made it but missed it a second time.  Nice

Anyone got their commendation and/or victory packs? I didn't get anything yet, getting a bit worried.

I actually wonder if it won't be easier next time if we could find some icon in the MP main section for as long as the servers know that operation is running on them. Or at least something via in-game Origin. Because since the times presented are sometimes GMT, sometimes ECT, this time it's Mountain Time (how is that even to GMT?), knowing whether the operation is running or not can be hard in Europe, especially if you are not in the GMT zone and don't remember for the heck how much do you have to add from where you are currently at.

EDIT: actually, you guys CAN send us messages in-game, via either that little terminal thingie or that big graphic thingie on top of that little terminal thingie. Can we get those with "Operation XXX is running, turn on multiplayer for more?"

We won't get the Commendation/victory packs until several hours, if we are lucky. I'm not worried about them. I'm more worried about the fact DLC is not available yet.

Always takes a day or 2 and that is only if you get them, otherwise you have to fight with EA support :/

An in-game timer would be nice. Actually, when the application runs a timer, it can also auto-convert to local time. Quite a few MMOs have that; hover over the clock and you see both Server Time and Local Time (based upon OS settings).

All this confusion about timezones could easily be prevented.

Also, by reading http://en.wikipedia....ntain_Time_Zone I'm only getting confused more. If you really need to use a time zone, please use one which is being used outside of America too. UTC and GMT seems to be the internatonal standard, nowadays.

I also agree about this. I also live outside of the U.S., and everytime I have to convert those local time zones to an international time zone.

You really need to start publishing the standart GMT or UTC time.

Ummm....maybe I missed it but....did we succeed in the operation? I promoted 12 times this weekend. 6 That I had prepped and did not promote till the weekend operation began and 6 more that I leveled up within the weekend to help the community. Please tell me we made it.

Well, I got in at least nine promotions over the weekend. Maybe ten. Here's hoping we hit the threshold.

Hey folks,

As you are aware, the victory and/or commendation packs are expected to be rolled out tomorrow, according to HQ.

No doubt you are concerned with the success or failure of the operation as are we. Image IPB

Post-operation investigative teams are currently assessing the state of our troops on the front lines.  Specific numbers of available troops promoted and on their way to meet the enemy head-on are unknown at this time but we will let you know as soon as we have that information.

Standby and keep fighting.

Cheers!
