You dont move or shoot for 2 minutes, you get kicked...simple. Why are so many people complaining?
Next patch Bioware needs to hand out diapers for all the babies in their wonderful multi-player community.
part of the problem is the time. 2 min! lets see door bell rings and is ups.. or mail and you have to sign for it. you get back and bang you lost xp, cridet, and got kicked.
or better still they system time is f up and you get kicked when you only been a min. and yes that happens.

On top of that, I play the hell out of public multiplayer (don't have many friends who bought the game), and I've honestly *NEVER* seen a leecher in any difficulty in any games I've played in. The "worst" thing I saw was someone who'd been playing with us for a while get warped into the floor at a match start and he was stuck there the entire match. He mailed all of us with an explanation and apologized for it. I frequently have high score in my games, and yes occasionally I do need to take a bathroom break. I don't think I need to get booted because I have to run to the bathroom while carrying a team.
Also, votekicking mid-match is a horrible idea. People will use that as a griefing tool and it'd be far worse than any leechers. If anyone has played MAG, you'd know what I'm talking about. People spend half the game votekicking others for no reason at all, and brilliant reasons such as they have the highest score.
I'd rather see this entire thing scrapped.

Long story short people started scoring maybe 1000 points in the first wave and then AFKing the rest of the game. There is no true solution for this.

This is all well and good to those who can sit down and devote a good solid 20-30 minutes a match. But I'm the parent of a one-month old baby who seems to know EXACTLY when I want to play. I don't mind leaving the game to take care of him, but it frustrates me to get to wave 9 or 10 and have all that time I put into the match go to waste. I realize that currently, there is a lot of room for AFK'ers to weigh a team down, but there has to be a better compromise for those who played, but weren't able to finish.
While we are at it, getting disconnected at wave 10 or 11 is just as frustrating, if not more so, because even having done everything right, I am still getting squat because my server took a dump.

What if you have a hacking objective and you're the only one hacking while 3 people distract the enemy on the other side of the hack. What if I have no enemies in the hack zone and all I have to do is stand there doing nothing? Will I be kicked for doing the objective?
It should've been 4 minutes AND you have to score a set amount of points in those 4 minutes.
just move around a bit. I like to move left and right sometimes when nothing is going on. Or roll around, pretending I'm a dog on a lawn...I'm starting to suspect I may be a #%@# weirdo though.
I do this too, though lately with my vorcha. He sidesteps like a monkey... it's mesmerising to watch. Back and forth... to and fro..side to side.. over and over and over again..........

If you quit, you lose. FYI, most of those "person has left" messages are disconnects. The message it gives you is very inaccurate, and blames network issues on quitting. Do you realize that every "disconnect" you have had told the other players you are a quitter?
Just noticed from my rep that I have negative feedback from players saying that I've quit early. I understand what you mean.

Number 1, it should be more than 2 minutes for two reason: players that are actually playing might ocassionally need to do something, so 2 minutes wouldn't be enough. And also, if there are AFK players, it wouldn't make a difference to kick them out after 4 or 5 minutes instead of 2 (the only difference is that the rest of team will have to wait longer for another player to join, if ever one does).
Second, just like others are saying, players use rubber bands to simulate activity. This should be easy to detect because their activity would just be "moving left" for example, so the rules should apply to them.

Im play 20 minutes ago a gold match...with some infiltrator named " lenard1 (dont play with him), he dont move from the same cover, dont shot, do nothing, but the only thing he do is go in stealth mode again and again. So, I believe this Lame player go away from keys, but he let a macro button doing the job.
So..this type of players ruins the game if we cant kick manually from game.....Im so fkg mad about this idiots.
Sorry for may word..but im really mad about this.

Generally, if it's right at extraction, i'll throw myself into cover in the extraction zone before heading to him. though i guess that's a 2 minute limit so i should be fine. sometimes it's in the first wave or two of bronze/silver and i don't feel so bad leaving for a few moments.
But - on a whole - i'm glad. I really wouldn't want to be bogging everybody else down. I always feel bad when i have to duck out mid match. And usually 2 minutes is enough to know if he's going back to sleep, or waking up.
Good patch. Good/bad news for me.

I was playing earlier and had to take two important phone calls in quick succession, hid in a corner and on the second found I'd been kicked, that's ok though I hadn't contributed to a big chunk of the match.
