What happens if they die? Does the timer kick in then or is it they are alive?

2 Minutes? I really am grateful you put in this timer, but I thought the company name was BioWare, not No-one-is-allowed-to-go-to-the-bathroomWare.

That joke sounded like it was in bad taste. And it was also awful. I feel ashamed, honestly.

You'll sh*t when you over with wave 11. In the mean time flex your an*l muscles.

Sounds fair... However could you define inactivity ? Does simply moving the mouse (for PC users) is activity ?

If it's the case, I won't be surprised to still see leechers in game who simply move their mouses every one minute and a half.

However, you have my gratitude for this measure :)

Thanks. Now that French guy who
leeched my team on Gold and us three carried his ass can't do it
anymore! Makes the french look bad too..

He sent me a msg after the match "THANKS FOR THE M0NEY" ******* ******...

I am French and I sincerely feel sorry for that. Next time (if leechers are still here), don't use any consummable and die at the beginning of wave 3. That should solve the problem : either the guy leaves and gains nothing, either he starts to work and you leech him ^^

Ahh thanks, I'm glad you understand.  Not all French are bad, but that guy, I wanted to rip his face off like a Vorcha.  Hopefully things will change a bit.

2 minutes is kinda short....
I guess I can get myself killed so I can go to the bathroom, but that just seems off.

Just an -especially on PC easily avoidable- inactivity timer won't help against leechers. It will only punish regular players, who had to take a minor break from the match (2min ~ roughly one round ~ 1/11 of an average match) due to RL, nothing more. Dunno it that's really a wise addition.

Awesome, at last. I despise people who hit ready and then stand on spawn point whole match just to farm credits.

If players have a real life emergency, and I mean a real emergency, a video game should be the last thing on their mind.

For those little things that pop up that you can't ignore, it's a nuisance but such is life. Games are 15-30 minutes at a time, you do what you can to make sure you have adequite time to play a match before you even start.

I'd like to know too. Could say the answer is obvious, but best be sure.

Some games can detect when you've been holding one direction for an extended period of time (one JRPG I played punished you with a difficult bonus boss for doing so on the world map); presumably this could account for rubber-band movement.

The way I see it, 2 minutes is often enough that anyone who has to make a token effort on their controller to avoid being kicked for purposefully leeching may as well play the game rather than have to do it 10-20 times a game.

Still think score count would have been a better way for leachers to be kicked .

I've had a couple of bronze games where the other players were so efficient I had, like, one assist going into Wave 3.

I mean if someone says a a single score for an amount of time such as the 2 minutes, all that takes it one bullet hiting someone, surely anyone can managed that.

Why wait till wave 3?
Just suicide as soon as you realize he is leeching and kick him and start a new game! Or better yet just leave the game as he does not deserve the exp from your kills (assuming he is not lvl 20)

Anyaway main question remains: Will we be kicked if we are not doing anything for 2 minutes while being dead?

Have you been in a novaguard party on bronze? You can hardly see the enemies before the novaguards slay them in the first 2 waves...

Wave 1 : Potential leecher spotted.
Wave 2 : Confirmation : leecher spotted.
Wave 3 : Sentence/Punishment

Why ? Waves 1&2 are short, even on gold. You can afford to lose 2 minutes to confirm the guy is a leecher and not a "sorry, hit space button because you were all ready but I had to pee" guy.

BTW, I too would like to have clarifications about dead inactivity.

1 bullet, only one is needed to get a score, not even a nova guard is that fast.

Dude, the game still goes on and he (the leecher) still get end game XP (minus the current wave, if you quit while hosting)  and credits while you won't.

If you bleed out, switch view mod between your teammates, alerting them if they get flanked or where it's safe to run. You will help your team and that way you are not afk. :)

Good. Goood. (I think I just did my first spot on Emperor Palpatine impression. Shoulda recorded it.) At least now, they can't just afk for 20 minutes for the easy credits. I think a kick feature would be abused too much. "Hey, that was MY kill!" *boot* Good on ya, guys.

Idea is good, implemention is not. 2 minutes is way too short time for an auto-kick.

Damm this is a stupid addition, especially it being on a 2 min timer only.
Just base it on the god damm score, i shouldn't be kicked if i happen to have to go do somethink that takes a little longer then 2min when i have been carrying the game for the last 10-15 minutes and still lead the scoreboard by wide margin, meaning im quite obviously not a leecher.

Seriously if it has to be this "go through where the fence is the lowest"- solution, atleast make it 5 minutes, but better be if you just hired some competent coders(and/or designers) who can make an actually sensible system(like one based on score)

Or better yet, make this match option set by host on match start. For example auto-kick timer options: 2min, 5 min, 8 min , 10 min, 15 min or off.
