Why didn't Bioware give us an epic crew like in ME2?

The Asari goddess Samara.
The smart sexy Japanese spy girl Kasumi.
The stunningly brilliant Australian Miranda.
The strong youth of primal rage Grunt.
The Old man of steel Zaeed.
(Nobody cares for you Jacob)

They removed these epic characters for the crazy nut case Ash and some Mexican guy. What kind of a trade off is that? I mean why in the world would I hit on chubby face Liara when I had a super hot milf like Samara on my team. God this new cast sucks. I feel sorry for Shep :crying:

Cool story bro.

(I honestly thought the ME1 crew was the best.)

For more focus on the story, obviously. Besides, if you paid attention to the game, none of the other crew members had any interest or chance in rejoining Shepard.

Bring entire cast of ME2 into ME3 depending on who survived?

Because all the characters you mentioned haven't ever been in Jersey Shore.

We need some spicy Samara romance. While we're at it, Chakwas, too. Hell, make it a threesome.

ME2 crew was epic? lol. I only liked five people out of that crew, even then I still prefred ME and mE3's tight knit group.

Wouldn't mind having to pay to get band back together.

I'm thinking of something epic along the lines of "Suicide Mission v2".

I always thought ME2 introduced far too many new characters, too many to make me care for any of them...a major problem of the overall story of ME2, in my opinion. The whole story got fractured and lost impact with all the focus on different characters. More is not always better...therefore:

Never cared for Samara, and also she was kinda ugly to look at
Kasumi who?
Miranda was annoying to me, her whole "I am so intelligent and super-duper" yadda yadda...Yet Warp was good to have in fights, I'll give her this...
Grunt? I prefer Wrex, he is way cooler and has biotic implants!
Zaeed who?
Yeah...Jacob really was only a filler...

And else? The space-frog, well, hardly ever talked to him...Legion comes in catalyst-style the final minutes of the game...Jack is an ugly sociopathic maniac who makes me feel sympathy for Cerberus and Miranda...only Mordin was really interesting and I liked him a lot.

Really, my favorites will also be Tali, Garrus, Kaidan, Wrex, Liara...and yes, I leave Ashley out on purpose...

Because, Artistic Integrity.
But really they wanted a more focused storyline with charcters that would be better devoloped because there were less of them.

I'd rather they mix up the squad, but oh well.

Their fault for writing such great characters in ME2, it's a win/lose situation.
Whatever the crew would of been, people would of ****ed either way.

I personally thought ME3 would be half the ME1 crew and half the ME2 crew.

ME1 Crew: Sure I'll drop what I'm doing and join you!

ME2 Crew: Sorry Shepard, i got my own life but thanks for the help.

You didn't expect the Mexican battletoad, did you?
Or EDI as a sexbot?
That just means you're not insane.

Did not. Javik was a welcome addition. I still would have had many ME2 characters come along for the ride.

Just way too many squadmates in ME2, I didn't really get attached to most of them. Always thought my ME1 squad was my family. Loved getting them back in ME3, only problem was that Wrex couldn't come permanently and make it a full reunion.

Serious, actual answer:

Simple lack of time and resources.

Same reason we got EDI with a sexbot body, since they'd be using Tricia Helfer(sp?) for loads of dialogue anyway, they could pad out the squad while they did it.

It's also why Javik got relegated to DLC. The main dev team always wanted to include him, but wrote him out of the main game because they simply didn't have time to finish him ontop of everything else. Then they had to delay the release, meaning the multiplayer dev team, who had finished apparently on time for the old release, were free, and could finish off and pad out what the main team had started.

It would appear the delay also meant Tali got bumped up from cameo to squadmate, since she was already heavily involved with the large Rannoch plot, and was very popular, meant she was the easiest and most fan pleasing character to give a bigger roll to. This would explain why she's only in the end of the game, doesn't get an upgraded base model, and is the only squadmate other than VS you can kill or not recruit, since those two options would have been previously the only choices for her.

Now, a more important question is, why was James Vega decided to be more important than Javik, Wrex or any of the ME2 squadmates?

EDI - Approved
James Vega - Definately Approved
Garrus - Take a wild guess
Liara - Snoozefest carebear hugger. Boring, would have skipped her.
Kaiden/Ashley - Okay
Javik - 100% Approved.

Ah, forgot him.
I agree, he was actually an interesting addition to the roster. Primitives just don't like him because he's mean to them.
