Nah, I'd rather them have a sexual preference.

It adds to their character.

It's similar to people complaining about Liara and Ashley/Kaiden having "plot-armour" we can't control everything, some people forget that when they play ME. We can't control absolutely everything that happens, even in a game where there's so much choice. Some people have the nerve to complain when they aren't given a choice in a narrative after being given so much.

good. too many people misrepresent themselves by sticking their feet in their mouths. now back to lurking.

It's not even about feet in mouths. It's about whether or not it's realistic to make everyone Shepard-sexual. It's not.

I think the characters should have a definite orientation - gay, straight, bi. Yes, it does mean that it limits everyone's options because there will necessarily be a limited set of options for each orientation, but I think the character writing will be stronger without them trying to write characters to please two or three orientations at once depending on how the PC wants the NPC to play out.

That would make them all Bi... which would seem unrealistic...

Making them not give a crap about Shepard's morals, choices and actions even if they're completly incopatible with the LIs' own moral standards is also totally unrealistic, yet no one complains. There was one character who turned Shep down based on morals - Samara. And this character wasn't actually a LI lol.

Same when you make super-ugly Shep and they're all still equally hot for Shep.

Just pointing those little facts out.

No, it's stupid and immature to force bisexuality on everyone.

Sad that there are 55 people who think this kind of shoehorning is okay. This is one thing that's wrong with Mass Effect now.

Also: ME IS NOT A RELATIONSHIP SIM, PERIOD. GO OUT AND GET A REAL BOY/GIRLFRIEND, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

Derp, you might want to read up a bit on the lore of ME (specifically the section titled "Asari").

Also, I play as MaleShep, so your point is utterly and completely moot.

There's lore and there's the reason this lore is how it is - and the reason is that devs wanted a wet dream race of bisexual space babes. Pure fanservice. Nothing wrong with that, just don't pretend you suddenly care about silly/unrealistic aspects of the franchise when you have Asari in your avatar.

I would have been fine if they hadn't made Asari mono-gendered and had instead made them just an all-female race (as biologically impossible as that may seem) because it doesn't affect me. Period. So, sorry, I can still care about this.

Also, Cortez was pure fanservice for players, like you, who prefer homosexual men. So let's not be hypocritical.

Usually I would say no...but then I get sad when I think of my brokenhearted FemShep and how she'll never get to be with Tali.

Do you also care that Liara doesn't give a crap if your Shep is a walking angel or a serial killer?

Of course he was, about time gay guys got fanserviced after endless stream of Asari strippers and Liara trying to "embrace the eternity" with my GaySheps at any chance ("Shepard, I have a gift for you, close your eyes =)" No thank you, Liara ^^')

This is not a relationship sim. Seriously.

Let's take another couple games with romances: Witcher 2 and Deus Ex: HR. In neither one of those is there an option at the beginning that says, "Would you like a homosexual romance option instead?" No, because that is pure shoehorning. Cortez/Traynor were characters defined by their sexuality. This is *not* good writing, indicating they were shoehorned in. Kaiden's romance for MaleShep: again, shoehorning.

Both instances cheapened the characters and made them much more flimsy and 2D. This is not good writing. So congratz, you got your homosexual romance option. For people who don't pursue it (vastly the majority) we have to deal with horribly defined and paper-thin characters. That's my problem with them.

Just to be clear, I fully support the rights of the LGBT community in real life.

I'd sure be playing the SP more if I could romance anyone at any time other than needing kaidan alive to play a straight femshep since Thane dies and Jacob was abducted and replaced witha Cerberus clone to cheat on you.

My mistake, poor choice of words. I meant that I would be fine if they were all female by human standards (i.e. typically attracted to men exclusively).

anybody who answers yes is dumb. If you want all access playthrough again as a different gender. I like uniqueness in all characters...I'm glad Traynor turns me down. I'm glad Jacob finds a new gf. It's nice when not everything is the same. if you want everyone to sleep with you play DA

There is a massive difference between paragon-renegade (both who still do the galaxy of world of good) versus straight and gay. The first can be dealt with as a sort of back-and-forth situation that creates a willing LI behind the scenes. The second is pure shoehorning.

I'm happy for you, but the point is that if you write Liara and asari off as fanservice and therefore "silly," then your Cortez relationship is also silly.

:o:lol:

Heterosexual = good writing.
Omnisexual species of hot babes = good writing.
Homosexual = bad writing.

Haha thanks, it seems that you don't like to have homosexuals as friends either.
