Game lags? Don't know why?

I've played through my SOA playthrough and so I decided to install TOB. I even installed the patchs for both SOA and TOB but now my game lags really badly. I can barely navigate where to go. And it's not just during battles but its all the time. I turned down some settings and turned down the resolution and I can't figure out the problem. Plus, my laptop can run WoW on high setting without lag, so I don't think its just a slow computer problem since BG is an older game.

Thanks for the help ;)

If you installed the SOA patch after installing TOB that will corrupt your game. Maybe copy your save games and re-install. SOA first, copy your save games back, add TOB and add the TOB patch if installing from CD (GOG is pre-patched so don't re-patch, disk versions are not. Also, don't take the beta TOB patch unless you experience the issues referenced in the associated readme).

For reference, the install as above still allows SOA to be played and is the best way to play BG2 from start o finish.

1. Turning down the graphics slider is telling the game that you have a crap graphics card just fyi.

2. Read this first then repost if you still have issues... add your mod list & system specs next time as well please.

Okay, I tried it. But it's still pretty laggy.

I would tell you my mods, but I don't know all of them by heart and don't know how to show you them. All I know is that I have Dungeon be Gone, BG2 Tweaks, and the Flirt pack (i think thats what's it's called).

Nah, I installed the patch before I installed TOB. ^_^

That might be the cause of your trouble. The SoA patch is only needed if you don't have ToB at all and I think could easily cause problems (as a result of fixes in that overlapping with ones included in ToB / ToB patch) whether you installed it before or after ToB.

FYI Your mods are listed in the note page named “WeiDU”... look for it in the game folder.
