Dragon Age 2 when you release Flemeth from the amulet with fenris in you group he knowns she you not nomal mage. In Dragon Age witch hunt morrigan tells the ward commander that Flemeth is not abomination or human  and she can not die and every time you see her she turn in a dragon. Mybe she is trap in the human world till she get her powers back morrigan and the ward child of the old gods.

Hmmm there are many storys and i know for sure Flemeth is a mythical creature we can only gues and wait for the story to develope maybe she is one of the old gods probably Dumat (my opinion) if the old god of silence was dead at the temple we should not recive anything after sacrifice the four objects.I think еven if a Grey Warden kills The Archdemon they dont die, its like purification ritual and they live somewhere.Thats part of my theory as for Flemeth to be the Trickster i dont think she is much the elven type - thats my opinion

From the record we know that the old gods are big high intelligent dragon much more powerful than high dragon able to speak maybe she is like the child of morrigan with the soul of an old god because she was the one from who morrigan has learn the ritual to trap the soul of an Archdemon in this case the old god Uthamiel(god of beauty) in to the body of a new born child.(my opinion) i would like to know the whole sorry.Maybe in Dragon Age 3 the story will develope more and will make clear some of the flashes till now.

If she was an Old God,then your Warden would have died and there would have been a huge explosion when he/she killed her in Origins.

she didnt die she was transportet to the Free Marches by the Champion. About the explosion it can be only when you kill an Archdemon

I believe Flemeth is a shapeshifter witch, not an Old God.

Bioware has this entry on her character:

You got me on the Archdemon part so my bad,but she was killed. The ritual Merrill did just transformed the piece of her that was in the amulet into another body for Flemeth.Which saves her from being truly dead....She even said it herself"Must I only be at one place at a time, bodies are such limiting things"...Not sure if it's her exact words, but it's somewhere along those lines. She also thanks Hawke saying that he/she could have possibly saved her life just as she once saved Hawkes life"An even Trade":)

If she was than wouldnt that mean the darkspawn would seek her out and try to corrupt her? But if she is that might explain why Morrigan needs the OGB.

I don't think she's an old god or anything, I just think that being a shapeshifter allowed her to co-exist with the demon in another level, so that there was no longer any real distinction between the two.

I am not really sure what Flemeth is but I too dont believe that she is an old god. Morrigan says that she is something different from human. She makes Flemeth seems as if she is something no one could ever imagine.

I don't know if I would say she is an old God. She's very powerful and old but that is about all we ever find out (at least for now). There are so many myths and legends about her. And as for all legends, some must always be true and some just that - legends. I don't know whether she has anything to do with the elves or not, but they do seem to praise her as a Goddess of some kind. In DA2 you are the Chosen one, for carrying the amulet, in which she is at that moment. There's gotta be more behind all that. It was mentioned way too little in DA2 when it was obviously something very meaningful and important. I bet they leave us wondering on purpose, they gotta bring her back in DA3! :P
I always liked Flemeth (and Morrigan <3) a lot. I would love to find out more about her, what she is, where she came from - her whole story! I think it'd be big enough for a whole game itself, or at least a DLC.

I believe she is. It's a good explanation of the whole dragon thing, and yeah. I definitely would accept it if she was an old god.

Also I think she could be the Formless One, one of the original teachers of magic from the fade.

Could Flemeth be Fen'harel - the old elven god who could walk among both sides? Being af shapeshifter would be very useful in that case.

Some thought set in verse:

Thedas fears the Gods of old
only because of what they are told
Control of men to be?
Twisted truth then leak
by tainted priest that speak

Betrayer of the Gods of old
Fen’harel we are told
In tales the Keepers tell
Name long forsaken
Another he has taken?

A body is a simple shell
Let the old one go to hell
Take on a new
In plain sight you then can stand tall
there hide yourself from them all

Is he now a she?
Can that really be?
A move so bold
that gives you freedom again
so you the control can regain

For some reason, I haven't even thought of that explanation. In my head, Flemeth having the soul of an old god just as The Warden's and Morrigan's baby does makes complete sense to me. How else would Flemeth know that ritual anyhow? Someone, way back when, when Flemeth was ready to be concieved there was probably a deal made between two humans, more likely a Grey Warden involved, to slay an Archdemon in one of the former Blights and have the soul of that Old God be transfered into baby Flemeth. That is now my opinion of the matter. But, who am I to make such assumptions? All we can do is wait until 2014 so Bioware can come out with Dragon Age III.. seems so far away. :crying:

I have read so many theories about flemeth the problem is finding any evidance. still fun to speculate.
my favorite would have to be that flemeth is andraste or at least connected to her in some way
