Far Cry 3 insane Edition Trailer
Far Cry 3- Stranded
Far Cry 3 - E3 2011
I've got a big soft spot in my heart for twisted crazy f*ckers like this guy. I'm not crazy about FPS, even if I thought Africa was a refreshing change of pace and appreciated it in Far Cry 2, but I'll keep my eye on this one.

Far Cry 2 had alot of potential and a great setting. But it was just so boring and the whole thing wound up feeling completely pointless to me. I'm taking a wait and see stance with this one.

Far Cry 2 is a mixed bag for me. I thought the first one was pretty good but the 2nd kinda fell short IMO. I recently put it back on to give it another shot and I'm enjoying it more this time. And I think I'm close to finishing it. Though I haven't tried it myself I hear these games have like the best map editor out there.

Whatever happened to the premise of becoming a man/animal hybrid? Was that just in Instincts? That was pretty cool, honestly.

Didn't like Far Cry 2...thought AI was horrendous and didn't like the mechanics. Will wait and see with this one. Will keep an eye out.

You know, if i shaved my head, grew a beard and got that scar across my head, i could pull of Vaas.

But can you fake a thick Puerto Rican accent?

I'd presume i would sound like a Brit who sprouts 'bollocks', 'tosser' or 'wanker' every now and then while engaging in deep conversation about Engineering or about general knowledge.

Did i ever tell you the definition of a solenoid?

Ubisoft official screwed up the Far Cry franchise ever since they got the rights from CryTek.

I myself will not be buying FC3 when it comes out, ubisoft have done enough with that Franchise already.

Vaas though is an exsample of how you make an real compelling bad guy in a video game!

Far Cry was amazing, right up until the later levels, the mutants sucked completely.

Far Cry 2 was in many ways OK, but it basically repeated the same 3 types of encounter and the same 4 other elements throughout a massive sandbox map without any variety or sense of progression, so I do still have it installed when I want to play the 10 minutes of gameplay it offers, but that's it, about ten minutes before it repeats itself. It would have been unbearable to complete it tbh, I had packed it in and started playing with the map editor long before then.

Even then, the massive sandbox world full of pointless drifting, ridiculous weapon locking and progression and so on could have been COMPLETELY mitigated by how awesome the multiplayer was looking to be...

...but characteristically the multiplayer was killed stone dead and abandoned after a patch broke it.

I predict that however good FC3 is (and try and stop me buying it TBH). it will have some massive and really fundamental flaw like the first two, and that multiplayer will be hacked off at the knees in some way.

How is Far Cry 3? I am very impressed with everything I've seen, and I heard the story is very, very good and has....a satisfying conclusion. I also heard RPG elements are strong, gunplay is good and there is a lot of loot and things to do. I heard the story is personal and stealth is a legitimate option. Voice acting seems great and on max settings on pc the game looks beautiful.

How is it? Is enemy AI better then Far Cry 2? In that it was brutal. Is it an immersive game?

That's what I've been hearing too. However I'd like someone's opinion on this, preferably someone who's played the game, especially since I haven't bought an Ubisoft game in ages.

Its impressive, to be honest my expectations were very low maybe that was the reason i liked this game so much.
Good story and story telling, strong, memorable characters and terrific voice acting, main characters progress is amazing, island is both beatiful and rich, many places to discover (especially WW2 wreckages). Good enemy AI(bettern than 2nd game :)), lots of tactics to play around and solid shooting. Im having a blast now.

Only problems i heard till now are about MP and its patched at first day. Havent played it myself so cannot commend on that and also there are some bugs in level editor.

There's this thing on steam that says the if you buy the Deluxe Edition then you can play it now. Is that true? Is there something else to it?

Uhoh :) You need to talk with your provider i think, i just walk into a shop and bought it. Funny part is its cheaper than the other "new" games yet its x20 huge. But there is not lots of playing right now, i become #1 at some challenges without real effort.

This game just seperated me from both Kotor 2 and BG:EE, unexpected indeed. GOTY for me, i just hope they wont ruin the story in later stages, game really has strong characters and an excellent start!

Edit: Beware of the freaking sharks and sonuva**** crocs. Especially crocs sneaky bastard gave me a heart attack ... master of disguise i say.

Yeah, we want details! Are the encounters designed as well as FC1? That game forced you to think your way through enemy conflicts.
