Masood, hm? I'm not racist or anything, but red flags definitely go up for me when a company is too cheap to hire local support reps.

This.

I try to be tolerant, but it's so difficult to communicate with someone when their English is limited to a manual and a rulebook.

Don't have any problems with indians, but NOT linking you to a local support(assuming they even have this) is rather cheapskate. Also, i am speechless. Especially when he went nuts and threatened you with a ban because they can't resolve the goddamned issue.

I have my own issues with EA support. I never got my commendation pack for operation raptor. After a month or so of emails, phone calls they eventually directed me to the troubleshooting database for connection issues which was a nonsense as I have received all the other packs without problem. They eventually gave me some credits to spend in game. Better than a slap with a wet fish I suppose.

The phone support indeed tends to be helpful, when you're not in the us live chat isn't even an option.

L.O.L.

If I didn't know better, I would've said you were talking to a chat bot.

I like their gift packs, quite generous of them and a pleasant surprise :)

Well, that guy was clearly having a bad day. You did the right thing just cutting off from him. I would have done the same.

I have very positive experience with live chat support. I have contacted them in more than one issue and they have been very nice and helpful. However, Masood was clearly out of line more than once. Even though I understand they are only human, I would definitely report this guy on every forum I find.

I've had several help chats with Origin reps, and they have all been very polite and helpful. Based on my personal experiences, it seems it was just your bad luck. Not to mention, looking at the first few lines of dialogue, you were afk when he initially tried to help you. I don't blame him for growing impatient.

I wasn't afk, the chat said he was typing so I was waiting for him to finish. The gap between my responses was, at the most, 5 seconds.

Anytime I've seen someone post EA chat excerpts, the support rep always asks if the customer is still connected right away.

EA support has worked fine for me(twice).

Both on commendation packs. One of them helped me and my friend get the pack without qualms, but the other needed my registered DOB which I bloody forgot since I put in a dud. And that he can't put the pack in for my friend unlike last time.

I've not had a bad experience so far, but I'm difficult to enrage. However, upon doing a quick search of EA support chats and including Masood's name, I've stumbled upon quite a few chats where this man has consistently maintained that he is right, regardless of whether or not an issue has even been brought up. He seems to have a superiority complex, and is more than willing to bring disciplinary action that probably doesn't exist against individuals that do not deserve it.

I've been trying to get an old account that still has BioWare points on it linked to this one, and both times I've contacted them I've been told by Origin help that they cannot do that. Unfortunately for me I registered ME3 on this account that I had created for another EA/BioWare game (SW:TOR) forgetting about the old one. I'm sure they can actually link the accounts, not sure who I need to talk to to get it done but it sure as hell isn't Origin support.

Yeah.

Well they were also telling people they couldn't change their Origin ID when BF3 was about to be released.

Someone found out you could download a free Android app version of Scrabble and change your Origin ID though that.

Eventually EA released a way for you to change it.

I'd say EA is the most incompetent company in the world, but they still make money despite trolling their customers EVERY DAY.

So they're obviously the smartest company in the world. Next to the tobacco companies. Hell, they kill their customers and still get repeat business from the ones that are left alive.

Tough. Ive had 4 (or was it 5) chats regarding every single comm pack (ive never received it automatically, for whatever reason). All went smooth, over in 5-10 minutes tops. Most are along the lines of 1) HI 2) Sorry for the problem 3) Ok gimme your ID 4) Done, check in 15 minutes.

Well you see sonny, the thing here is..

EA and SUPPORT should never EVER be used in the same sentence, especially not to convey the same thing.

I have nothing but disaster after disaster.

Then follow up emails asking me to check in if I was still having problems, then when I check in via email with a reply to the email with the issue code - the person has no clue.

They are quite possibly the worst customer service in the universe - and I've dealt with a lot of phone companies.

did you honestly expect decent, or even polite, customer service from the company that got voted Worst Company in America earlier this year?

There is something wrong with EA's customer support as an overall institution, and they're not going to shake their poor industry reputation until they can fix this.

I'm American, but I'm ethnically and culturally Asian. I live in Asia. As a kid in school, I grew up with terrifyingly smart Indian folks who outclass me in every way, even in the English language. As a working adult, I deal with Indian professionals who are a million times more capable than me and pocket a far greater salary.

Indian-born and Indian-educated doesn't means bad in English. It doesn't. But cheap labour does. You know that EA isn't getting customer service from a well-run call centre downtown somewhere. You know these poor guys are badly trained and earning horrible pay.

EA has some great folks working for them. The senior agent who eventually handled my ME3 multiplayer issues is pretty much a saint. But I also had to go through five people before my case was escalated to her.

The only time I contacted EA support via Origin I had to wait for like 40 min to get a guy on. Can't remember his name, but he was very helpful and polite. It was regarding not receiving my commendation pack, he just asked for my username and email; the pack was in my account within 2 min.

So yeah, not everybody is a douchebag. :)
