I only read the first few lines, this chat support rep is surprisingly arrogant.

I had a live chat with EA support 2 times, and they were very nice. But this is unacceptable. Also, buy the way, anyone know why there are only indians? Just curiosity )

Half the time I get Russians or Eastern Europeans they're a hell of a lot more polite than this Masood guy

After reading this in detail, I think its kind of making a mountian out of a molehill *going so far for a BF3 Charachter*

But that still doesnt justify how arrogant the CSR was, its disgusting

Try contacting them for technical issues. Dear lord. It's like they don't know how pc's work. At one time they told me to shut all processes down except explorer and origin. Even my antivirus, mouse utility, wirless adapter and my NVIDIA software.

That would fix my problem so I could play online.

I'm gonna say it: RETARDED.

I wonder if you'd get the ban lifted somehow if he would have decided to ban you.
Or do they even have that power? At least they can do pretty much anything else.

Email support has been better in my experience.

EA 'winning' that online poll...doesn't mean EA is really the most hated company in the US, it just means a group of gamers hate EA enough to all go vote on a particular website.

Mind, the fact that a bunch of random gamers dislike EA so much that they're willing to...go through all that trouble to skew the results...is probably a pretty huge deal in itself.

One time...I typed out this whole explanation of my issue, and copy-pasted URLs to dev/mod posts on these forums.

In response, the customer service guy in live chat sent me a link to a blog post about the Resurgence DLC, which had just been released at the time. He insisted reading about it would resolve my problems,

Um. No. I mean, yes, it was nice to know that his manager wanted him to advertise the DLC to players, but it's not like the new Batarian Soldier could have fixed my account by punching it.

Truth: Online support isn't there to solve problems. it's there as a barrier between EA and their angry customers. all they do is search online for solutions, maybe log in to your account and check if what you're saying is true, but they almost never offer any real solutions. They are just some poor Indian or Pakistani minimum wage phone slaves who are hired to block the most of the sheetstorm coming in from the customers.

i won't go in to detail about how they reacted to the fact that ME3 broke my old xbox. even just partially remembering that experience makes me want to punch dolphins.

They're polite and can help with account/unlock problems. But when problems are BioWare related, there simply is no support at all.

They thought I was playing a browser game the first time I contacted them about problems in ME3 MP. /facepalm.
went something like this:
rep: pls download chrome
me thinking: maybe they need to run some tests with a tool that runs only on chrome.
me: ok
rep: start the game in your browser.
me: um, this is ME3 MP im talking about, a standalone game.

But luckily both reps I contacted were quite nice. they really tried to help.

On the occasions I've contacted them, it's been a little slow going, and I really do have to spell everything out to them, never seen them be so confrontational though, I think I would have called EA customer service to complain about this particular piece of EA customer service.

In my experience with EA Customer Support it's not just phone support but if you decide to go the e-mail route. Tried contacting them in order to link my BSN account to my gamertag so I could register ME3 here and got nowhere with it because I had 5 different people replying to me asking me for all sorts of information.

After about 2 weeks of getting nothing out of them I'd had enough as one guy who had really poor spelling and punctuation, spelt my name wrong and acted like it was a new case which just wasted my time. So I looked for another solution by myself.

Isn't there a place to give feedback on the support? Maybe send that there?

And EA wonders why Origin will never be better than Steam...amongst a mile-long list of other problems. This is terrible support, from a terrible company.

Excuse me, but I find this too far-fetched to believe. I'm 90% sure it's made up, but the 10% is reserved for doubt, and I apologize if you can prove it's not made up.

I've contacted EA for a lot of problems, live chat or a simple mail that would be answered on the next day, and they always were polite and helpful. On one occasion, they also gave me an Origin discount coupon just because I contacted them about an issue with ME3. I've also told them about a game I want to make, which might be using the ME IP, and they were perfectly fine with the idea - I've nothing more than an idea at the moment, I'm still thinking on it.

So, from my personal experience, I thought they were okay. It seems pretty weird that an employee would be so rude, and not following the company's rules and make them look awful, when they provide their name and can easily be found if you complain about them. Have you tried contacting EA about their awful personnel? Or was this topic the first thing you thought?

Le sigh. My biggest gripe with EAs published games is that their games require so many online passes to actually get working that calling customer support is just a matter of time really. If I ever get a problem with new games that have the logo EA in them I don't call customer support I take the game back to where I bought it and demand a refund.

Gamestop employees are actually easier to wrangle into giving you a refund just call their boss and that's that.

Wow. Just wow.

EA (Live) Support is very hit and miss - I've had less than satisfactory dealings with EA Live Help before (as in, they were unable to resolve an issue) and I've also dealt with some extremely good support reps too that went out of their way to resolve an issue, even if other reps had told me it was not possible.

However... they've never been downright rude (or rude at all, for that matter). I can't quite beleive what I just read - If I had been treated this way by a support rep the first thing I'd do is find out how I could make a complaint about them. I don't care if they were having a bad day/week/year, they should never deal with someone like that.

Best advice I can offer here though is try again and speak with a different rep. If you get Masood again I'd just end the conversation immediately and re-connect.

I know this isn't ME3 related entirely, but just a heads up for anyone contacting Origin support via live chat. Just spoke with a live chat rep regarding an ongoing case related to me3, and this is the response I got:

You are now ready to chat with Masood.
Masood: Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Masood how may I help you?
Masood: xxx, are we still connected?

you: Yes, we're connected.
....

Has anyone else had similar experiences with Origin/Ea support?

Good God.... I used to work as Q+A for a phone company a few years ago, there are so many breaches of regular customer service standards. If this person was in my team, Ild would have him sent for retraining.... or quite possibly fired if this was a regular attitude.

[edit] I'll say this however, everyone has bad days, even support agents, cant say I've ever been that rude to a customer myself, perhaps a bit short with them(and yes i did get in trouble for it once). My own experiance with EA's customer support has been mostly positive, but from working in the industry its easy to say that are people in the job that just shouldnt be, due to personality issues, unable to handle high stress etc. Customer support is one of the most agrivating and at the same time rewarding jobs out there, in my opinion.

Then I don't know what to say. But the first thing I'd do was immediately contact EA and complain about the representative. They won "Worst company in the US", I don't think they like any more mud on their name. This is inconceivable.

Thanks mate. :)

I couldn't believe it either, I had to check the browser window a couple of times to make sure I was actually in EA support...
