I liked him.
I really wish Bioware hadn't assigned such a TERRIBLE stereotype to him in three though.

I hate him in ME3 just because he thinks he's better than Shep. I also hate that I can't knee him in the groin for cheating.

I actually quite liked Jacob in ME2, how much of that was down to his skintight attire i'll never know.
But idk what the frick they were doing with him in ME3, especially considering he was a LI.

No.
The rate at which stupidity flows from his mouth in ME2 is troubling.

I think he's painfully dull and boring, it's not that I can't stand him, he's just... boring, doesn't do anything for me. I got to admit though it was interesting what they did with him in ME3 with how he cheats on your character if you romanced him.

Were talking about Mass Effect right? Team JACOB TAYLOR is probably the best thing to call it. We don't want to get Jacob Taylor confused with the abominable series which shall remain unnamed.

Oh and no Jacob is a pretty boring character. Except he's like Vega and likes to workout a lot. Even his workout is boring as hell, if you do Lair of the Shadow Broker and look in his terminal, everything he does is like 300-500 reps.

Jacob seemed like a nice enough guy, he just paled in comparison to Mordin or Legion.

He was a good, down to Earth "everyman" in ME2. He basically served as a foil to Miranda. The ME3 cheating was just bizarre though, felt like it was an excuse to not have more dialogue for the romance.

Nah. Didn't hate him, but never really cared for him. Seemed a bit naiive and over-obsessed with his abs. Also, I was dreadfully afraid of my femShep spontaneously ending up in a romance with him when she needed to be with Garrus instead.

I don't hate him, hes just came off as a jerk in ME2. You can blame my apathy on the dialog writers if you want. For me it was simply first impression.
I came up to him right after I boarded the Normandy in ME2. I said "Hi, Have a minute to talk?" and he responded with something along the lines of "I'm not big of FORCING these talks".
I walked away thinking, if you want to be a **** then you can sit out the rest of the mission in this room cleaning gun parts.

He cheats on FemSheps. I'm MaleShep so I couldn't give a damn, but it is really harsh.

He's alright. I kind of liked him in 2. Not my favorite, but I don't think all the hate is justified. Too bad they destroyed his romance in 3 though.

Just wait till Kasumi gets her hands on him.

Dating him is a heavy risk and a lousy prize in game.

They didn't even derail Jacob's character logically. He breaks up with Femshep... because she loves the Normandy too much? Wasn't that Joker's thing?

I thought he was a cool dude. Never played as femshep so I don't really care that he cheats on her.

Eh, I always play femSheps and whenever she talks to him, she sounds like a skank. So, I never ever got to know Mr. Taylor. I just couldn't stand how femShep seemed to be throwing herself at him, and he always seemed to agree because he kept telling her that he wasn't big on forcing things. So, I left him alone.
I agree that the cheating was harsh, but I understand it. Jacob strikes me as the guy who's attracted to extraordinary women -> Miranda and then femShep, but at the same time, he wants to feel like the alpha male. It's too bad that he's not going to be that with either Shep or Miranda. So, those relationships aren't going to go over too well unless Jacob can just learn to be confident being himself which he has problems with.
Enter Brynn. Finally, Jacob has the extraordinary woman who needs him to play White Knight in Shining armor. She may outclass him in the brains dept., but he'll always be the better man in the physical and security department and be able to keep her safe and she'll always need him for that. At least, for the sake of their future happiness, they better hope it stays that way.

I liked him, he was just a simple soldier. He was just a guy with a gun with a confused past. He was the bland character in ME2 but he doesn't really deserve all the hate, at least not until ME3 if you romanced him as FemShep, but really how many people passed up Garrus?

I think he's one of the most dull characters in the series. Even when we come across something awesome like his dad owning a god damn playboy mansion planet, Jacob's all like 'I don't wanna talk about it'. Screw you, Jacob. Let's get Ronald up in this b*tch.

Cerberus lapdog for the entire 2nd game
Complains that he didn't see how evil cerberus was, even though I EXPLAINED IT TO HIM IN THE LAST GAME.
Cheats on you if you romance him
Emulates his father
Bad character.
