I don't get why they had to have Jacob cheat. I don't buy the realism excuse, because this is a game. And if they were going for "realism" how come this doesn't happen to maleShep? Like have Jack run off with a bad boy biotic or Miranda finds someone while she's on the run?

If it's due to unpopularity, why couldn't they do what they did with Jack? Have the mission and have Jacob reconnect with femShep. The at the hospital reestablish the romance, pop up the achievement, give out war assets and that's it. Done. It might not be satisfying for Jacob romancers, but at least it's not character assassination.

I never saw Jacob prior to ME3 as cheat, or the romance as a fling. And this is coming from someone who didn't romance him.

I always thought Bioware should have had Ashley and Liara date a person or two while Shepard was dead. Death has a funny way of bringing relationships to an end, and Shepard was out of the picture for two years. What are the chances that two young & very attractive women would remain single and waiting for a dead ex boyfriend to return?

I hate his writer and the enitre writing team who decided his fate for ME3. I also hate them for the decision of screwing the characters from M2 just to favor the chars from ME1.

I never romanced him because, as someone said previously, FemShep sounded like such a complete skank that I couldn't make myself. However, Jacob did NOT deserved to be stereotyped to death. He was the only LI in ME2 that declared his love for Shep flat out. But bioware decided to throw their "resources" at stupid sh*t like MP and animes, so no more resources for actual story or dialogue.

*looks at sig* Needless to say, I'm not impressed with anything they did for romances in Miss Effect 3. They basically took an awesome game like ME2 and make it redundant. No choices, not consequenes...nothing. This was not *my* Shepard or *my* story in ME3. It's all theirs and that totally contradicts the basis of the Mass Effect universe.

The ME2 squadmates deserved better.

I found it incredible that Bioware managed to make a character MORE boring than Kaiden.

And then they character assassinated him more in ME3.

Very poor writing by Bioware. The 'I'm having a baby' thing works for anyone that didn't romance him.

But to Bi*ch Slap the people that did Romance him with this, was just, wrong.

In ME3 I hate who ever wrote Jacob.
Cause I felt insulted to what they did to him. What a betrayal to character.

I too was oblivious to the jacob hate prior to my entry onto theses forums.....and i still think its just ridiculous.....I created the now shut down thread WHAT IS UP WITH JACOB HATE ON THESE FORUMS {lotta jacob thraeds popping up since then} and I still do not get it.....

its ridiculous to think every character has to be out there and crazily good like mordin....that would be ridiculous...we nbeed touchstones to reality, more normal characters for believability and balance....
im definately a jacob fan, hes in my top 10....i loved him in me 2, he was my bro and behind miranda was dissapointed in his normandy crew exclusion in me 3.....

regarding me 3, he was SUCH a main character in me 2 that he may have seen the most drop off in exposure and screen time of any character to me 3.....but hey no one was happy w me 2 character treatement in me 3....pity the me 3 miranda and jack romancers......and samara and thane romancers.....and jacob romancers...see a pattern here......dont they know me 2 and its characters is the most popular and acclaimed of the whole series?....jeez....

don't like jacob at all.....

1. he completely cheated on me........that's enough for me to hate him
2. ME3 Shepard is fighting Reapers. "Jacob I could use your help""...................I got no help. Jacob's reason ie. execuse was terrible. Just like his reason (execuse) for cheating on me was terrible

that's just two of many other reasons why most don't like jacob.

I had one of my Shep's go for Jacob and I tried really hard to stay that route, I even ignored Thane. Up until he needed to speak to me about his LM. I give myself an A for effort though. I really tried. Even though I didn't romance him, I didn't see it play out and other than that one play through where I tried I basically ignored him until he needed to speak with Shep, I do not agree with what they did to him in ME3.

It was rather cruel to have them have Jacob tell Shepard he loves her and then find out he got another pregnant after 6 months. He may not have been the most popular LI but he definitely deserved better than he got. Jacobmancers deserved better.

And that picture of Jacob Black....he looks barely 15. I'll try to remember him as he looks now because it's just less illegal that way.
