 shepard awakes on the citadel and is greeted by the catalyst, recovering from harbingers beam on earth shepards asks who the kid is, he replies i am the catalyst , shepard asks on  how he/she can stop the reapers,

catalyst replies i control them and my current solution is no longer needed

shepard asks how do you control them and why do you control them?


catalyst replize by saying at the dawn of time a plan was put into place by us the beings of light to prevent synthetics to gain full self awareness, we have created the cycle every 50,000 years to make way for new life by harvesting the advanced, smarter civilizations

we do that to prevent a future of chaos where synthetics will rebel against there creators

shepard lets out a painfull sigh and says you dont have to ontinue this reighn of death and destruction look to rannoch and the geth/qurrians as a example that we all can co exists with eachother!

catalyst replies one achievement cant stop a synthetic rebellion in the future but you have a choice in the matter

i know you have encountered soverihn on virmire and i know you have killed 2 of the reapers and it seems like that is your intention all along so you can destroy us but if you do the energy from the crucible will cause a universal extinction involving every planet, living being destruction of mass relays, citadel  and the death of you

your other solution is control where you shepard can control the reapers and end the cycle by commanding the reapers anyway you seek and by doing this you will die but the cycle will end and the species of the universe can rebuild

shepard chooses control and the energy takes the reapers over and they retreat into dark space.

about 3 days to 1 week later after the war a funeral is held and every species, alliance member, normandy crew, me2 crew attend, admiral hackett awards shepard with a medal of bravery and gives a speech and we see the crew of the normandy with the me2 squad around shepards grave they look at eachother hold hands then go there seperate ways, the camera slowly creeps down to reveal shepards full name with sam hulicks spectre theme playing then end credits

shepard chooses destroy and dies wile releaseing the energy from the crucible and we see that energy burn up every planet , destroy every relay citadel is in flames, normandy blows up, reapers harvesting the last of whatever organics are left and the creen go'es pitch black and a image of harbinger appears saying circle complete
