Heavy cover.

i.e. lose Banshees behind freestanding walls and STILL make headshots OR hop over the low walls to lose a Brute or Pyro and keep shooting at them.

Usully i run for the elavated "bunker" at the end of the kill zone. But if the rest of the team stand in the killzone, then i wont get any enemies to kill becasue they will ruin the spawns.

I'm usually the only 1 inside the bunker suppressing the spawn point so the team gets all the kills. I sometimes  get accused of leeching, so I run out and let mooks spawn in the bunker and let them kill the team in a pincer movement.

Awesome strategic thinking, Commanders Shepards.

Yeah, I've seen this now and then. And unless it's an experienced team leveling up on Bronze, yeah, it usually ends painfully.

It's not even that the cover is necessarily so terrible (though, nearly anywhere else on the level would be better) as that, like others say, it inevitably gets the team pincered.

Why is it that everytime I play this map everyone wants to hold the open area in the middle of the map?(You know, where that 1 hard hacking spot appears?)
Am I missing something here?Image IPB
Do people like getting overwhelmed and dying every 10 seconds?
And this is silver and gold difficulty, I'd assume everyone knows better than to stand there in the open and get killed.Image IPB

The same reason they try to stay in spawn on Glacier and Hydra: Ignorance.

If they can survive out in the open while killing things, it's fine. Most can't so they should find better cover/higher ground.

People are scary bad in the majority of PuGs ive been in. I make a bee line to the bunker so i can be sure nothing spawns in there and once in i look around the map and there are people at the spawn or in the middle area maybe some baffoon on the bottom of the map wondering where her is.

I usually just sigh and pretend im solo'ing until im forced to either rez anyone who has been of any use or complete objectives on my own. sometimes people will clue in and eventually bunker down or such then the game goes much smoother.

a bad PuG is worse then soloing as you have to watch your back even closer. soloing you can at least force certain spawn areas or predict there path to you. bad pugs have the spawns messed up and there are litterally enemies everywhere and you usually end up dying trying to revive the bad's

I occasionally have teammates who try to hold there as well, in the later waves they'll usually realize the control room is better.

What I don't get is everyone who complains about the hack zones on Giant; I've never had an issue with them.  Only one I ever need to use missiles on is the lower middle one (in the depressed area) while the enemies spawn on it for 2-3 seconds.

Now, Ladder Dagger, don't get me started on.
