It's funny you should ask, because it's a really simple thing for me to have an accurate answer for you.

It's seven. Seven people use subtitles.

What I hate is when people decide to fraps their games or certain scenes/moments and they keep the subtitles on.

I use subs as a way to make sure I don't miss anything. Real life distractions and such can sometimes cause me to miss what a character was saying, so the subs work as a nice safety net for this.

I don't know how many other people do, but I always do. I have a short attention span. Plus, it's hard to catch the names of planets and people you don't know without subtitles to spell it out for you.

I always have them up for the first few playthroughs because sometimes actors mumble, sound is out of balance, or my neighbor is teaching violin with her window open.

Also it's the only way to tell what Shepard is saying a lot of the time if you play a hacked s/s romance....

I had them on for the Citadel and Normandy, then turned them off for missions. Now I've played it through again, I have them on all the time.

And considering the dropouts/fail triggers in this game, it's mandatory. 360 owners would miss most of what tryanor says otherwise.

I love the subtitles. In fact, I've found in ME3 that there are some parts where the subs indicate something (Traynor, mostly, telling me blah blah is on the vidcomm and the like) that I never heard vocalized.

I think the game has some sound issues.

I turn them on because it helps me understand what the characters are saying when they talk fast because I'm not a native english speaker..

I'm the same. Its frustrating how often I'll have complete background silence while all I'm doing is shooting people, but then as soon as I reach an important cutscene my dog will start barking or other people in the house will make some sort of noise.

This is also an important point.

I always have subs on so I can tell what characters say when they try to say something, but vocals cut out (but the subtitles still show it).

Oh!  subTITLES.

I thought "subs" meant submissives.  I was thinking it was their job to turn ME on.

I'm one of them, my ears are not trained enough for VO language and i would hate to miss few parts here and there.

I played through the first few times without them as I have a decent 5.1 setup in a relatively quiet room (my basement office). But, I did notice I missed some details here and there (names, places, etc.) so I enabled the subtitles for another playthrough and did catch some things I missed.

I do, but only because the ME3 audio f***s up and I don't get to hear half the sentences characters say, as they'll pause, start their sentence 30 seconds later and only say the first line or so. More "organic" my ass...
