Okay, normally it should be rather simple: The set input device is my mic, it's enable, it works in Windows. The output device is my speakers, they work, too, since I heard others talking via mic. I press the mic button I mapped in the options (Tab), I speak, but I can't hear myself.

So now I simply don't know whether it works or not. <_<

In a running game I already tried, asking "can anyone hear me", only then realizing that if noone else has a microphone, noone can answer. Obviously. :pinched: :D

So, simple question: Should I hear myself talking when using a microphone? Or is it normal that only the other players can hear me?

No you shouldn't be able to hear yourself.

Best bet is to try it out in windows.

If you're using windows 7 then there's a guide to help you set up the microphone.

Control Panel -> Ease of Access -> Set up a Microphone (it's below the Speech Recognition)

Like I said, it works in Windows. I made sure vie recording the input and listening to it. ^^

Well...I guess my best bet would be to try this out in a private match, with a friend and ask him whether he can hear me or not.

The only time I heard myself was when some idiot set up his speaker output as a microphone and didn't have a push-to-talk key. I heard everything coming out of his speakers.

You shouldn't hear yourself during the game. If you go to 'recording devices' in Windows you can check an option so you can always hear your mic.

I just realized how stupid it is that ME3 has no ingame chat. I cannot test the mic ingame so that someone might post a comment whether it's working or not. And all my Origin friends are either not playing at all or not at the moment. -.-

You usually don't have the time in L4D2, there isn't even a "between waves" gap, it's still versatile and I used it. In ME3 there is time in the squad-menu before the round starts, in order to setup basic tactics etc. and, like I said, in the time between waves when the game is running.

If you chat in the lobby with other players, you should see the speaker next to your name animate while you are talking.
