I can't help but wonder this:
How many UK players are stunned to hear multiple accents from the U.S. ...
I'm sure that ignorance knows no ocean.
I think the stupid here get a little more educated due to the amount of American TV we watch. There are loads of differences just from watching different shows
Funny thing is, I notice a lot of British actors and actresses playing these roles! LOL. Esp. New Yorkers!
It's like you're teaching yourselves.
Funny thing is, I play with a lot of British people online, so after a few days of "hardcore" gaming, my friends say I have a British accent. I think it's human nature to mimmic on purpose or accident.
Yes i have afriends that are hmmm Rudeboys (english equicalant of ghetto kids). This used to be mainly black people as it is a mix of london and Jamacan accent/words but now it is more of a london thing. Doesnt matter if you are white, black, brown or ginger
Anyway i then moved down to Brighton I had to say one word and everyone would say your frrom london then. When i went back to London all my friends thought i spoke differently and more the queens english. odd as i never saw a difference

I went to Ireland once, came back with a full blown accent. I went from Yooper to an Irish accent in one month. XD Well, me last name is McKay after, but I hear it's a much more common Scottish name though.

The thing is, the rest of the world will always know more about americans than we know about them because in the states we export more television than anybody and the whole world watches us. I've seen MTV playing on tvs all over the world.

Well you should probably refer to the US as the states, America is kinda big. And we also have many different accents.

Inbetweeners one of the best english comedies in the last few years, nothing compared to Missfits tho

Unfortunately, the majority who feel the need to talk/post online happen to be young teenagers and idiots.

I suppose I'm being ridiculous for thinking that somebody asking about the different kinds of accents in the UK could be so inflammatory.

Again they didnt ask about the different kinds of accents, this implies proir knowledge that there are different accents. i dont care if someone asks me about accents. In fact through this thread i have explained a few. I just thought it was stupid to ask if there are different accents. Again there is a major difference
Sorry i offended you lol but its a very very stupid question

Its a must see, inbetweeners is more gross out/stupid funny. Missfits is just raw humour and crazy situations. Loads of different accents in this as well

I disagree. I watched one episode of Misfits with my cousin, we both though it was sh*t and proceeded to watch something else. It's even worse than "Lee Nelson's Well Good Show". :s
The Inbetweeners is awesome, though

Just for your infromation, i cant actually believe i have had to explain this on several occasions, yes there are different accents over here in England. Just like America and everywhere else in the world
I understand its a small country compared to most but come on people am i the only one that thinks its a stupid question. We have different accents just by going a few miles up the road. There are plenty of different accents just in London alone.
So if you do speak to me on XBL now you know. Crazy stuff I know
Wow.

I ran into some brit the other day who was playing with her boyfriend. That was great. She was saying all kinds of things like "****** off wanker" "Tosser" and the usual English sayings. She died going up a latter, and said. "Oi! The gun's sticking right out me ming!" I'll never forget the way she said that XD
You never heard a Brit say 'minge', 'wanker' or 'tosser'?
I'm looking forward to learning American slang.
