People say it's for consoles, but I don't think so. Maybe if this were on the 8-bit Nintendo, but every controller since has had several action buttons.

Or do they just think we're too stupid to handle having separate buttons for sprint, cover and interact?

I don't think the human brain is built to handle multiple button control schemes. You wouldn't want everyone breaking into epileptic seizures now would you?

Well, most console games only use 4 of 12 buttons supplied, I think it's because people can't stretch their thumbs to insane distances.

On PC the space bar is the ubar button of all things, revive, cover, run, which leads to an all mighty cluster **** in the heat of battle.

On PC you can modify that.

Its like that on xbox too.

While it's kind of infuriating to die because your bleed out timer ran out while your teammate was repeatedly taking cover on the wall you died next to, it's also kind of hilarious.

And according to some Bioware posts, get banned for it. They have been inconsistent at best.

Although this is a nice thing about PC gaming, it shouldn't be used as an excuse for lacking support for basic things such as reboundable keys.

If you're calling them lazy/idiots you'll get no argument from me.
Banning people for fixing an oversight of theirs because they can't even know if your modifications qualifies as cheating or not adds insult to injury.

I'm just saying that it *is* possible to map different actions to different keys on pc.

Enhance in-game remapping. I have a 128 button QWERTY controller and most of those buttons are unused!

They aren't banning for modifying controls. They are banned for inadvertently getting an advantage in the game somehow. Mods have said that remapping is fine as long as it doesn't give you some kind of in-game advantage.

They should have just used a single button for everything, with the amount of milliseconds the button is held down determining the action you take.

After playing Bill Laimbeer's combat basketball on SNES, I cannot really complain about controls (hopefully at least one other person here has played that game and can relate)

Any modding at all, and Origin interprets it as a hack.

And remapping does give an advantage. So does changing FOV.

Bioware needs to come up with a final statement on this and sticky it.

Well, even on the Xbox controller there's only the A-button and the L/R 3 buttons available after melee, reloads, three hotkeys for skills, aim, shoot, menus etc. Some people are suggesting using the L/R 3 buttons to sprint but I've found it only works well on first person games. Maybe the revive problem could be solved by making the distance from where people can be revived longer or something?

They won't because they don't give a crap.
They said that the reload glitch is not a glitch but a feature probably because they have no idea how to fix it or they don't care.
Same thing applies here, if the number of people complaining about this is small then they just ignore it or call it a feature.
