I'm just going to spend the 3,000,000 credits I saved up while there are still some players online who are having the same problems as me.

I have the same problem and I am also connecting from
Norway.
Same as you I find the EA support useless.
I have had problem with downloading From Ashes DLS and just
gave up. And now I have problem with downloading Rebellion DLC. I find a
solution for From Ashes, which is you cannot buy it, but if you receive a
redemption code, and redeem the code then the system start downloading the DLC.
For that reason, I
appreciate if the BIOWARE urgently define a redemption code for Rebellion DLC
and send that code to those who cannot download DLC directly through Origin Store.
In case BIOWARE does not take this corrective measure now, I
am highly suggesting that we start to submit complains to consumer council,
especially in European countries, which have a very strong consumer protection
measures.

The gamer in me is rooting them on, and the consumer rights advocate in me is displeased that people are being kept from an experience they paid for by an issue thats been known and unresolved for quite some time.
Technically the only thing we gamers buy is a license to play the game. It doesn't say that we "own" it. But that's mostly just me being anal, haha. I get what you mean though. I'm personally getting a lil' impatient as well. They should've tested this sorta stuff on a larger scale - But perhaps the resources aren't present to accompany for such things.
The only thing we as gamers can do is wait for them to tell us something. And understandably, it sucks to be dependent on others =)

there is nothing wrong at all in holding people and organizations to a high standard, and if voicing your displeasure helps - then more power to you. (That of course is not an endorsement to be abusive.)

I wonder if there is any war to copy the Rebellion DLC to your computer?

Posté 01 juin 2012 - 07:19
If you have a friend close by have them log onto your computer using thier Origin ID.
And then have them select me3 game. It should autodownload the rebellion patch and patch up the game.
When you lgo on to the game next the maps and characters are available I am playing a vorcha soldier right now. This does not solve the inital issue but can get you playing with your friends at least.
Now this will only work if you know someone who has successfully been able to patch the game and download it
It also only affects the general error people get downloading the Patch not other errors. The patch itself does not seem to be account specific. Hopefully they will get an official fix soon.

I was hestitant to use it because I thought I might get banned but considering the fact that this issue will probably not be resolved, I'm willing to give it a try.
Can someone zip the folder and the post it somewhere?

Someone from EA customer service is currently trying to add the DLC to my account on their end. Fingers crossed!

I've asked 2-3 EA reps if they could do that and was told not possible.
Disaster Maker though has a novel idea. Make Bioware release a serial key for Rebellion DLC for those of us with General Error. After all, you still have to tie the DLC to your Origin account.
Don't have Twitter though, so might see if I can suggest it on Facebook.

I didn't think it was possible either, until I was signed out of Origin because I apparently signed in elsewhere, haha. The EA rep couldn't do it however. On the bright side, he said I'd receive an email in 5 or 6 days, concerning the issue. Which in my opinion is a rather long time.
In other words: If anyone's going to zip up the folder, send it to me as well, please!

In light of EA's history with banning people, I'm not going to try that approach, just to stay on the very safe side. Do hope it works for you guys and EA does not care.
Well, I'll hope my friends can manage with a random in their matches for the future then.

"Vivek: Our engineers are aware of this and are diligently working on fixing the issue and hope to get it resolved soon. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
you: How soon is "soon"? Do you have an idea?
Vivek: Please give us a little time to get it resolved, and try again later. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
you: I also know that other people are affected by this error
Vivek: Yes. other players are also facing the same issue.
you: OK, so when should I contact you again if I still can't download it?
Vivek: We don't have ETA. But I'm sure this issue should be fixed very soon.
Vivek: Being a Battlefield 3 fan, I understand your eagerness to play the game.
you: Hehe is it affecting BF3 as well?
Vivek: We are also having the issue with BF3.
you: OK so it's obviously not client or game related error
Vivek: yes."
So there you go, finally an EA rep admitting that no reinstallations and updates to programs will solve it, so you might as well stop trying. The problem is absolutely and entirely on the server side.
I do hope that his "soon" is really soon, but for his credit, he was much better than the average tech support rep, and more honest.
So it's just a matter of waiting now...

Nice. Did not know Battlefield 3 had similar issues. Let's hope EA's milkcow might make them work faster.

Hence the "Hehe"
I'll try heading over to BF forums later to check if they have any better response or solution...

This one is from last year...seems like it magically started working again...

One that looks unresolved...

Apparently it just suddenly worked itself out...

A bit worrying, as there is no resolution in any, except that for some it just happened. To me it looks like the key to solving this might the Warning Locale error message in logs.
Also, how many times have I read that they have escalated the issue?

This doesnt exactly thrill me...every time i check this thread the problem seems larger and less likely to be fixed....bleh.

Anyways, BW, fix this please. Now it maybe happened to a couple thousand, but it can hit many new people for the next DLC; and even more for the EC. That'd be a disaster; it's already a disaster.

If another player logs on to their account on your computer then downloads the dlc you can then access the maps etc yourself.
After doing this the dlc did not show in origin as being installed but I can play the new maps so it works.
You can do it online with team viewer or a similiar program.
Not an official fix but it is a working one

But can you get the new items, weapons, characters? I assume that is tied to if the DLC is registered to account?
I'm hoping Bioware could give out redeemable codes/serials for Rebellion DLC and see if that works as an alternative method, so we don't have to wait much longer to be able to play with our friends. Someone else mentioned it had worked for From Ashes DLC.

Basically I have all maps weapons etc available...I still have to unlock characters and weapons as normal and basically I now have the rebellion dlc.
However origin doesnt seem to register that fact....dunno if that will cause any problems down the track but at least i can play again.
This fix is a fix
