Hi  :)

My game update today will not finish downloading.  It has been stuck on the "Finalizing Update" screen (download at 100%) for the last 20 minutes (and this is the third time I've tried).  First two times, it said that it needed me to give Windows permission to continue; only trouble is, Windows didn't ask me for permission, either time.

I got up super early to download update and install DLC so I could get the party started as soon as I got home from work tonight... but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Any ideas?  Suggestions?  Running Win 7 x64.

:crying:

I had the same problem. Check task manager, you may find multiple versions of "reg.exe" running. Close them all, then try the install again. The reg.exe apparently hangs up during the origin enabled install. Another solution, in another post, linked to a newer beta version of origin that you can manually download from bioware. After installing that version of origin, my patch install went fine. My DLC download went fine with the older version of origin and the patch probably would have been ok once I found the reg.exe problem, but I couldn't launch ME3 from origin after the official origin patch, so figured what the heck, go with the updated beta version.  Here is the link to the page for downloading an updated origin beta:  http://forum.ea.com/...A556B97DB66D83B

Reg.exe didn't work but the link with the beta origin did.

Thanks.

Hey thank you for this!  Outstanding  :D  I will of course have to try it when I get home from work - but hopefully things will run smoothly then and I can get on with the new DLC.  Thanks again, hope you have a great day!

Before the 1.03 patch came out, there was a patch that I installed this morning. It seemed to get hung at "installing", but the Origin task list (not Task Manager) showed it completed. I closed the item on the list in Origin and the installing pop-up went away.

I exited Origin and started it as Administrator. I looked like it repeated the process, but this time, both the progress pop-up and the Origin task list said completed.

After 1.03 came out, I installed it just fine I thought. It said it was complete. As usual, I manually exit Origin and restart it after any updates (just to be certain that UAC doesn't cause any conflicts with the current user). Origin immediately updated ME3 without any input from me.

Weird. I would almost guess that Origin is updating ME3 in little chunks, usually at the user's manual discretion regardless even if it the application is not yet the current version after checking for updates, and sometimes, it does autoupdate.

Origin needs some more tweaking.

It seems to me that Origin is only capable of udating so many requests at once and either pops up with that error message or update freezes. Had this same problem when trying to update 1.03, took me 2 days before it finally decided to run.. Origin needs some serious tweaking on so many thing and updating is just another thing to add.
