Being a sandbox and all, you know...I would love to pilot that police craft and fly around the city in it. Or better yet...even better flying craft.
I bet this is part one of a trilogy. When they first announced this, they said they signed an exclusive licensing agreement to create 'games' in the Cyberpunk universe.

I am highly doubtful that the graphics level in game will match the graphics level of their cinematic trailer. Even more so that I will ever be able to see such a thing on console, even with the new ones coming up soon.
So, either it will make too many promises that it can't keep, or it will become the new half-life 3.
.
You really aren't familiar with CDPR are you? If they say something, they will try their darndest to do it.
Meh, they are not exempt from marketing exagerration. For instance, TW2 is not non-linear as they keep telling us, it's bi-linear.
What I will say is that while they may exagerrate certain features, at the very least the features are there in some capacity and not non-existent.

I understand your cynicism, but don't knock CDPR because of the quality of their trailers. Witcher 2 had incredibly kickass CGI trailers and it was still a beautiful game. I get a little knot in my throat when I think of Iorveth's dagger sheath... such a beautiful sheath...xsdob wrote...

I await to see which it will be.
But CDPR no doubt feels that it has to increase its marketing budget. Witcher 2 had good sales but still did not crack the market, especially the console market, as it really deserved to. Too many people ignored it for the sake of glitzier and emptier games.

With that said, their track record is excellent both in terms of making good games and treating their customers with respect. If they promise something, you better believe they'll do their best to fullfil that promise.

Witcher 2, for me, was a broken game. Not in any subjective sense like "this story sucks so much it's broken" or "The combat is so clunky and inventory so hard and irritating to use it's broken", though I feel a little like that.
I mean, from a literal objective sense of the word, my witcher 2 xbox version was broken.
When I got it, it was because the bsn said it was a good game. I don't play with PC, I suck at using a keyboard to game, suck at programing a controller, suck at mods, I just suck at PC gaming all around. I am just too technically inept to be a PC gamer, I admit it, if it doesn't involve a simple "Insert disc in gaming device. Now play" than I suck.
And so I was glad to hear they were releasing witcher 2 for xbox.
And than I got to floatsam, and my game broke. You know how in order to complete some missions, you need a certain npc to spawn in order to complete it? Well, my version had a slight problem with it.
NPC's in my game had a tendency to not spawn.
It all started with that arm wrestling mission in the bar. I beat the first 2 competitors and expected to find someone to talk to and beat to finish the quest. Only no one spawned to challenge. I dismissed this and carried on, thinking it wouldn't be too bad.
And than I got to the balista mission, and the **** npc needed to distract the guard never spawned. I turned off my game after saving, turned it on again, and reloaded.
And she still wasn't there.
I loaded a previous save before I adjusted the time and tried again.
Still no ****.
I ended up starting a new game, now pissed, and now making basic mistakes because of how smoldering I was with anger. I work another 2 hours to get back to that scene again.
And she still. was. not. there.
I was sold a bad copy of the game, but it wasn't just that. It was that this problem could exist, and could get out into general circulation enough for a copy of the game all the way in a small town like my own that made me question why.
Never have I had a game have this problem. I've played bad games. I've played horrendous games. And I have played bugged games.
But never have I had a game refuse, blatently refuse, to allow me to see what story witcher 2 had.
And so I returned it, I took the cash, all 45.00 since apparently removing the plastic wrap voids a full game refund, to save and not waste on what could be a potentially bugged game again, and decided that this was what I would think about whenever I think of CDPR, and anything related to them.
Because say what you want about bioware, at least they wanted you to experience their story, no matter how much you don't like the story their telling.
And so that's why I am so weary to play their games. That experience will not go away, and as small as it is, that 15 dollars I won't get again feels like a lot of money that I lost.
Sorry for wasting everyones time. But yeah, I don't think CDPR will ever manage to get me 100% excited.
I'll just see myself out, and save people the trouble. So long guys, I hope this game turns out fun for you all.

Some BioWare games do contain game breaking bugs, one of them which hasn't even been patched and most likely never will.Because say what you want about bioware, at least they wanted you to experience their story, no matter how much you don't like the story their telling.

I played Mass Effect 1 on PC which was buggy granted it was ported by Demiurge but still. There had been a patch that broke Therum for me and Garru's face has never ever been fixed.
This is his default texture.

Then there is the bug in Mass Effect 2 which causes me to crash no matter 100% of the time. I have to then releoad the game so I can rearrange them.
Mass Effect 3 crashes frequently for me especially when playing online to my knowledge the bug that causes the swarm to take your shields which makes the sound effect loop and then crash hasn't been fixed. The map is pretty much much unplayable for me.
Still I deal with it. Yea its a shame the game has given you problems which haven't allowed you to experience the game but Bioware is no better or worse than CDPR at bug cleaning and I won't even mention the bugs in Dragon Age I've encountered.

Theres something in that that's something, but I don't know what it would be. Not irony, but something close to irony.
I fell for hype from the bsn, which painted this game as perfect and infallible, so running into this problem that not even replaying the entire game fixed really blindsided me.
But I'll stop whining.
CDRP is perfect. They are the messiah. They make gabe newell look like EA. All hail our polish overlords. /kidding.
I'll just keep chiming in with small one or two sentence post, and keep my mouth shut outside of that.
I again am sorry for wasting everyones time with my thoughts and opinions. If I knew they would ****** so many people, I would have just done the smarter thing and stuck to being a lurker.
Sorry.

Its an exciting new trailer full of optimism and people already are trying to find ways to be cynical about things we know nothing about yet.

CD Projekt CEO was interviewed by TVN CNBC and had few interesting things to say:
- Trailer represents the level of in-game graphics that they're aiming for.
- Cyberpunk 2077 will have a much bigger marketing budget than any of their previous games, and they're confident it will be a commercial success comparable to the "big games". The most important market for C2077 will be NA.
- They are about to start talks with publishers about their second title (which will be announced on 5 February).
The last point suggest that we may as well see some gameplay footage from the second title.
Is such a thing even possible?

I doubt it. Like others have said, CDPR isn't exempt from a bit of exaggeration. But they'll be using an updated RED engine, so I'm sure it'll look great.

A while ago I remember vaugley that there was a timeline and class system posted on here, cant remember the page. Is that information still up and is it accurate or did CDPR make a statement about it? Or.were those from the book?

RED Engine + Next Gen = The result will be damn impressive, even if it doesn't quite meet their claim.

Dude don't be like that. Your posts are fine and we (I) don't want to shame you into not posting or anything. You have to understand that this is the first look at anything about the game. It consensusly was a very awesome CGI trailer. People are going to be excited, especially those that notice how different they are from western publishers. We don't have as much cynicsm built up because they haven't screwed over the fanbase or anything like that.
You had a bad experience with them, and I certainly understand. Reading the Xbox glitches is saddening to be honest and I would expect better from them. But I don't feel that the cynicsm in terms of marketing is warranted. At a moment when everyone is excited over the trailer, your words ring like this. "Don't be excited"
Think if you were with a group of friends talking sports and your friends are happy that your favorite team signed a top tier player. They would be a little pissed if you interjected with "well, I dunno guys. Team X got Player A before and they were mediocre at best." Don't rain on the parade man!
edit: And for a personal anecdote, Metal Gear Solid 4 broke my PS3. It literally overheated it to the point that I had to send it in. Sony fixed it and insured that it wouldn't happen again and it would be safe to play MGS4. I was 1/4th through it. I never finished it. I think I youtubed the rest lol.
