I would suggest you post system specs if your having issues like that. Something must be in commen there but you guys fail at providing useful information.
At least post the GPU and CPU and op system info.
bare minimum.
System specs in my sig below .

I" think I'm noticing a trend, at least in the few times people have bothered to post system specs...
AMD based systems seem to be having more issues than Intel based ones with this game. I see others posting with similar reports of that hitching and long load times, etc... and amd keeps popping up.
Time will tell I suppose.
Did you try cutting down on the cores or disabling some to see if that helps?
I recall having to do that with Age of Conan (early on) with my system here (back when I ran xp) and that solved issues with that game till they came out with later patches to screw up other things.

My issues are completely random, but only in-game, now apparently one of my saved games is foiled from the constant forcible reboots - basically the video blanks out entirely, sound still goes on in the background, more than likely a video settings problem, I play at 2560x1600 so of course I get the painstick beating for shelling out on the technology, anyway, currently using the following configuration, any advice beyond lowering graphic settings is appreciated:

CPU: AMD Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz Socket AM2+ 95W Quad-Core Processor Model HD9600WCGDBOX - Retail

This sounds like a case of an overheating GPU or something similar. Try turning down your clock settings. (I ran into this problem on my old rig, that fixed it)
Also, the game has been out for less than a full day. I would hold off on calling them support-less.

This still is not a perfect ruling out, however, as during the beginning of my game play, while in the starting zone I crashed a good 5-7 times similarly, with nothing really to traceback to.

Try vsync.
Tried VSync - makes no difference for me, in fact I've tried all options, even turning on heavy AA just to see what happens - no good. The only thing I haven't toyed with [frankly because I'm not sure what they're getting at] is the Launcher's Config page > there's a Muiltirender support option you can disable...not sure what it's going to do so I haven't touched it.

I don't OC any of my equipment - am a firm believer in "The hardware Manufacturer knows what they're doing with their own hardware better than anyone else anyway."
The heat does not spike, which actually I expected...see this similar problem happened with the game "Trine" where the screen would blank out, but my GPU's would redline right before the event happened, I had to play the game on the lowest settings possible to beat it.
You're right, I'm only stressing because primarily I love the game, the idea, and everything about it, but the past couple of games ("Left 4 Dead Demo" excluded), which I've purchased through Steam have given me nothing but similar headaches - I just wish development was like it used to be ... release dates should be Release Dates, not [let the public be the guinea pig dates] - look at all the crashing / bugs on this forum ... I find it outrageous.
In either way, I will call them on the phone tomorrow to see if that will glean any more light on the subject. Chances are that our friend is on the nose about the AMD combo's being a problem and a bug fix will be released eventually...who can blame them anyway, poor AMD is going out of business soon.

same here, looks like it freezes everytime it's trying to take screenshots
I missed this one, there is an option if you choose to start the game via Launcher, then Configure it, and if you look carefully there's an option under "Online" to disable "automatic screenshots" - maybe that will help you?

No issues like that at all here. Game is running very smoothly for me. There were a few VERy minor hitches a few hours into the game that had nothing to do with what you guys are posting abouit though. The hitching was not enough to bother me I've seen far worse elsewhere.
I would suggest you post system specs if your having issues like that. Something must be in commen there but you guys fail at providing useful information.

I figured it most likely would be Vista 64 bit compatibility which is why I chose not to release my specs, but since that may not be the case....
Nonetheless, here are my specs.
Gateway FX6801
nVidia GeForce GTX260
2.67ghz Intel Core i7 920
9GB DDR3-SDRAM
1x 750GB HDD
1x 250GB HDD
For that matter, it seems the problem has overall stopped for me, but still occurs periodically it seems. It'll do it whether or not a screenshot is being automated, but I've not tested that out.

BTW, the game is optimized for multicore: http://www.pcgamesha...cores/Practice/Okay, disabled the multicore, using only CPU0 on my phenom, same exact issue, ironically no loading differences - by all appearances this program only uses one core by default, in 32-bit mode...obviously some curious issues here.
