When I first unlocked it against Cerberus on Silver, I decided just for kicks to use it with my Human Engineer. I was really shocked and surprised to see how effective it was. Didn't make me into a biotic god or anything, but those Phantoms could definitely smell my power. It wasn't OHK against anything, but it made fights against Phantoms a bit more evenly matched.
Turn invisible and back flip away from my sights? AoE, b**ch.
But then, I went into a match against Geth on Silver, and suddenly, the effectiveness seemed to drop off. Against Reapers and another match against Geth, the effectiveness wasn't nearly as impressive as that first match. In all of these, I wasn't using an Infiltrator. Used a Turian sentinel for one of those matches, and a Quarian female Engineer for the other.
Mine (I call her Cassandra, because no one truly understands her vision for the future) remains at lvl 1, and I don't know if I was just so giddy to notice the drawbacks in the first match, or if there's something else going on with the weapon.
But while this weapon does have its advantages for non-Infiltrators, I don't yet see it being overpowered.

If I had a choice between having to nerf multiple weapons in order to make them not OP, or depowering the one class that makes all these weapons become OP, I'd think it would be an easy answer.
It wouldn't even have to be a nerf, just a reduction in the damage bonus would be enough.

Any way my point is that if you have at least a few good weapons then when you use the worse weapons its more fun and challenging. If you dont like a certain gun thats fine, dont use it. Let people enjoy the guns the way they were given to us rather than screaming for a nerf, its not even been 24 hours since the dlc dropped. Strap on a pair man ffs.

Yeeeeah.
Against cerberus this is completely and utterly overpowered.
Against geth and reapers it is "only" about as good as the best sniper rifles in one.
Think about this:
It has damage almost as much as a Widow.
It weights a lot less than most sniper rifles.
It has a 3-bullet magazine, and 39 bulets in reserve!! (At level 10, with a magazine mod - because penetration doesn't work, so you naturally go with damage+magazine upgrades) (Compare THAT to javelin, eh?)
All it's bullets have Stagger + AoE.
It bypasses shieldgate.
Seriously, this gun is like ALL the best sniper rifles put in one, and then boosted in all aspects by a good amount to boot.
Playing with this rifle, as infiltrator, against cerberus, any gold match feels no more difficult than bronze.
Honestly, this is a bit too much. I agree that regular sniper rifles should be powerful - because they require skill to aim to get headshots and so on. This gun? AoE + ton of bullets means you can just explosionspam.
So here's a question - why is this gun so easy to get, powerful, fast, when the "falcon" assault rifle - with bullets almost as strong as this gun's - is so infinitely worse?

- inconsistent damage; sometimes standard mobs exploded on 1st hit, sometimes I needed three shots
- very low damage against Atlas
- good results against fast moving Phantoms
- very difficult for headshots, or no headshot damage bonus
- did not understand the zoom mode, takes some time to zoom in, but for what?
As such, I prefer to stay with my Valiant I. Fast shots, very fast reloads, damage almost on par with a black widow. Nothing beats that.

Okay so it doesn't take down big game bosses any quicker.
The small AoE balances out the fact that it's a slow shooting gun. If it didn't have AoE/stagger I wouldn't even look at the damned thing.
Also, before you get too worked up that the gun is going to make all games into Kyrsae fests, why don't you relax a bit and wait and see if it actually happens. Then there's reason to worry if most/all games turn out like that. As you can see, I'm not a fan of hyperbole.

For me this is just one more gun in my sniper rifle section/class.
The type how it shoots and not beeing able to shoot without scope is annoying like @#$% - first, I died several times while aiming out of cover
It kills stuff, but for me unusable, not really an all-around weapon.
Ugly looking animation when enemies explode as well, avoiding it at all, if people like it, it´s fine too
