Hey i was just wondering, during the quest "Act of Mercy" , If you help grace escape but do not kill Thrask, does that count as helping the Templars or Mages? I looked at the acheivement guide and all it said was that the mage option is to kill Thrask and Templar option is to refuse to help Grace, im stuck in the middle of it. I need to know if im goin to have to start again to get the Templar and Mage helper acheivements.

I did this on my first playthrough with the rest of the Pro-mage choices, but did not recieve the achievment. You have to kill Thrask to recieve it, unless my game is bugged or something.

I brought them to Thrask peacefully and then decided not to let them be taken in. Thrask survived and the story went on. I still got the trophy for helping the Mages.

No, he meant to trick Thrask away from Grace. Same result, different method. Though I do not see why this does not grant the achievment but that does.

The game is very weird with its flags....some of them you are absolutely unable to refuse if you want the trophy, specifically some of the choices in Act 3. I think it should have just tallied how many times you helped one or the other.

Whether Thrask lives or not is irrelevant.

You can't kill Thrask. It's impossible. You can tell Grace you will, but you never get the opportunity.
It mostly comes down to whether you let the mages flee or convince them to return to the Circle, but you also get the side effect of whether you lied to the templars to get them to leave, or fought them and killed them (Thrask excepted).
