I can't get this game to authenticate my serial details in order to play.  I'm exhausted with the EA Techsupport team as I keep getting different people who aren't familiar with my case or don't read case notes and kept sending me around in circles.  Is anyone able to assist?

I had downloaded a couple of demos I could find of the game and installe/played them without issues.  I believe the issue is with the EA core server and when the game attempts to activate the licence and update the patch. This is based on my attempts to troubleshoot the issue as a local system fault.

NOTE:  I'm not tech savvy at all!  I've had to pick up the pace in the last few days because of this issue.

Issue/Error Message
When launching DAO -- "AWC.dll | The game cannot launch because of a misconfiguration.  Please reinstall your game and try again" Then "EA Core Server Application has stopped working."

My System Environment
  • Windows 7 starter vs 6.1.7601
  • Norton Internet Security 2012
  • Hardware: pc/notebook
  • Graphics: Radeon HD 6290
  • IE vs 8 & google chrome
  • My user login has administrator rights
  • (there is no apparent option to disable UAC)
  • Java version 6/1.6.0_2 (runtime)
  • Direct X 11
Troubleshooting Attempts Performed
 - Uninstalled Origin.exe
--I've performed a clean uninstall
       - clean temp files from Windows folder
       - cleaned registry entries
 - Reinstalled the OriginThinClient.exe
 - Re-downloaded the games and reinstalled
 - Tested game.  Able to access the Launch game screen and set auto configuration
 - Press play. No-go.

** Note I peformed this step 3 x, ensuring that I clean the windows and registry folders of any debris***

I've searched for the EACoreServer.exe file--Ran the program as administrator to launch the application--Application crashes--I've performed a clean uninstall
       - clean temp files from Windows folder
       - cleaned registry entries
--Reinstalled the game--Installed the 1.05 patch--Installed Adobe AIR--Added a firewall rule to allow EACoreServer.exe & game exe--Attempted again
     -  receive the game launch screen with music > pressing [play] brings me to the configuration menu > auto
configuration completes > pressing play then launches the error.--I then attempted to run the EAAccessinstaller.exe as /s using the command prompt--App launches then dissapears (I can see it installed in my windows application list if I were to uninstall a file)--I rebooted--did a clean on the registry using CCleaner--added the EACoreServer.exe to my firewall as a rule to accept--attempted again, no-go   I'm not keen to reinstall everything again.  As I have been doing that all day and nothing comes from it.

I happened upon this site and researched the forums for troubleshooting tips.
I peformed the EA Core.ini file fix as per the forum links below.

Nothing has worked.

Is anyone able to assist?  Greatly appreciate it.

Kind Regards

While you've posted a lot of information, a lot of it is not needed (IE version, etc). Please refer to the "Read First" post and include the information requested there. It also shows you how to find certain things.

Please also confirm that you have Windows 7 Starter edition...is this a netbook? (as opposed to a notebook?)

Refer to the official system requirements, please.  The "HD 6290" is not a graphics card at all.

http://www.notebookc...90.51810.0.html

The minimum is a real CARD, not any chipset chip, although there are some AMD Llano APUs that technically do meet the minimum.

Windows XP Minimum Specifications
OS: Windows XP with SP3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Single (or equivalent) running at 1.6Ghz or greater
AMD 64 (or equivalent) running at 2.0Ghz or greater
RAM: 1 GB or more
DVD ROM (Physical copy)
20 GB HD space
Video: ATI Radeon X850 256MB or greater (this is clearly wrong)
NVIDIA GeForce "6600 GT" 128MB or greater (and this one is more wrong)

(Note: IMO, the practical choices for the two video cards above should be the Radeon X800 Pro, and the Geforce 6800 GS, at least, for small textures - it will take a Radeon X1650 XT (or X1800 GTO, same thing, almost) for medium or better textures)

You should have posted in this thread before buying the game:

Can my PC run this game? (DAO / DA2)
