I recently downloaded patch 1.02, and ever since I have been unable to start up DA:O. When I try to play the game, the launcher menu opens, but whenever I click play, nothing happens.
I assume the problem must be with the patch, as I was running the game on max graphics before hand.
My PC runs Vista 64, has a Q 9550 CPU, and a Radeon 4870.
Is there any way to bypass the launcher completely, with an exe file or something like that? I used a work around like that when I was having problems with Mass Effect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, please go to where DAO is installed and click on daorigins.exe.

No, I have a different problem entirely. I have no idea if my game is laggy or not, because i can't actually get into the game. I've tried running it through the exe, but i just get a message saying that the application has failed to launch because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.
I really don't know what that means, so i'm stuck, short of un-installing and hoping for the best.
