Not sure what the issue is here, unless the EA servers are overloaded with people downloading the DLC, which I doubt.

also, if you check for updates, it tries to repatch. checking again repeats this behavior. wash. rinse, repeat.
if i had to guess, id say the patch isnt applying properly.
The system wont let you connect unless you are patched.

Same here. Tried logging in to the
multiplayer immediately upon completing download of the new DLC. The
main menu loads normally. When I select multiplayer from the menu,
however, it sticks at the load screen for roughly 30-45 seconds before
giving me the above message and kicking me back to menu.
I've installed the Rebellion DLC and I have the same problem.
When I try to check for updates I get the message "You must be logged in as an administrator to continue."Blkpanthr67 wrote...

This computer only has one account, and of course it is an administrator account.
I downloaded the DLC by starting the download via Origin in-game, and the DLC installed correctly. I'm not sure if patch 1.03 hasn't been installed or if it's just Origin who's making a Rebellion of its own.
My masseffect3.exe is version 1.3.5427.46.

I first got that Origin DLL thing, fixed it, played 3 matches, then got out for a while.
And 3 hours later, I come back and it's telling me that server communication stuff. It's ridiculous.

Try starting Origin via "Execute as Administrator" option, at the menu that displays by right-clicking Origin's shortcut icon.
Cheers

I'll have to try tomorrow, I expect this will be fixed, 18 hours is plenty of margin.

I went ahead and tried this, I re-downloaded/installed the patch (by going into origin and checking for updates), and I was able to get into MP ok. Played a few matches and then I closed the game to post this. Will try to get back in later if I cant will post again. Hopefully this helps someone.

This happened to me. Talk about frustrating. I tried 'run as admin', but that didn't work. Restarted computer etc.. but still nothing. In the end I just cancelled the download so I could play. But now when I play I dc every game I do.
Why can't things just work like they're supposed too? >.<

I have downloaded the new dlc and keep getting this message when trying to connect to multiplayer. I have exited completely out of Origin and restarted a number of times. I have also restarted my pc and reconnected back up. Same issue. Any ideas?
In my case it started happening before the DLC was released, but after installing the patch. And even if my connection to the game/EA servers stays, my lobby stays empty(I always host).

1) From Origin, ran "Check for Update." Update not downloaded, but did finalize. Noted that Windows (7 Pro 64bit) required administrator approval prior to finalizing update. Tested Multiplayer: Unsuccessful.
2) Restarted Origin using "run as administrator" and again ran "Check for Update." Update finalized again, but did not require administrator approval. Tested Multiplayer: Unsuccessful.
3) Again from within Origin, ran "Repair Install." Noted that though the process gave a notice of successful completion, I received a DirectX setup error. Tested Multiplayer: Unsuccessful.
4) Went into . . .\\Mass Effect 3\\_Installer\\directx\\redist\\ and deleted all files except for DXSETUP.exe, DSETUP.dll and dsetup32.dll. Then reran "Repair Install" from within Origin. Origin update completed successfully and I did not receive any error messages concerning DirectX. Tested Multiplayer: Unsuccessful.
5) Ran Mass Effect 3 executable directly, using "Run as Administrator" option. Tested Multiplayer: SUCCESSFUL!
6) Exited Mass Effect 3 and reloaded program from within Origin. Tested Multiplayer: Successful.
In short, if you're still experiencing this problem, try running step 5 above: use the game's executable from within program files or a desktop shortcut, but right-click on it and select "Run as Administrator." If my experience holds true, you should only need to do this once to fix the problem. Hopefully, you won't have to do all of the update checks and install repairs that I attempted.

Same problem here. I tried everything listed above except the DX part since I didn't get that error, but still no luck. I guess my next attempt will be to uinstall the game and reinstall. =/
