I don't understand why the fix is working for everyone except two people so far, including me, so let me get this straight. To fix the connection issue:

1. Go to C:\\Users\\[Username]\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3
2. Rename the folder called Save.
3. Open Mass Effect 3 and go to multiplayer.
4. Close the game.
5. Go to C:\\Users\\[Username]\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3
6. Find the folder that you renamed in step 2 and rename it to Save.

Am I missing something? I just get the unavailable server error when I try get to step 4.

This is without a doubt extremely annoying and UNACCEPTABLE (EA / Bioware) !! it's been the better part of a WEEK since the DLC & PATCH created this HUGE PROBLEM.. (Was working fine prior to the updates) and to have but 1 representive  from Bioware really explain what measure are being taken to rectify this also is UNACCEPTABLE.  >:{

The problem for all intense and purpose points to a connections issue, if you run the trace on the servers you may fine the problem, I ran UO Trace from my location(NORTH EAST COAST,NYC) and identified that 100% of the packets are being lost at IP address 4.79.169.74 ( ELECTRONIC.car3.Washington. Level3.net)  A Backbone sever 2 hops before EA servers are reached. Now I am not saying this is the total issue, but;
Not able to connect to EA severs + lost packets= CONNECTIONS Problem,  maybe worth checking to see if a HDD failed or someone unplug a sever!!?Image IPB

BIOWARE / EA let's work twice as hard on communicating to your customer base on what actions are being taken to fix something that you sold working and now broke!!!
[b]i'm finished with the RANT!!! ............FIX IT!!!!..... ok now i'm really finished.

I didnt read all the posts, but I fixed the problem by deleting old saves (actually i renamed all files in Save folder). Procedure is:
1. Clear Save folder.
2. Launch the game. (Dont use the Cloud storage in Origin!)
3. Play multiplayer.
4. Exit the game.
5. Return old saves. (In my case i gave them old correct names)
6. Profit.

KUDO's.... After my previous post , I read this and this seems to have fixed this connections issue..

Thanks Nematic....

I tried the fix steps above and it worked! After a week! Thanks

This is unacceptable!  Bioware and EA really dropped the ball.  I mean, a WEEK of people unable to access their new content?  How is there not an announcement or at least a sticky in the forums saying they are working on it?  Someone has to read their twitter feed and find out that they are actually aware of whats going on?  This is typical of a money grubbing company that doesnt care about its customers!  Paying customers like you and me are now left to fix a problem ourselves....

Uber sized Fail:devil:

I guess the "invitation fix" didn't work for you, either, didn't it? :blush:

^ EA/Bioware already got your money, so they don't care.

Why should they spend more time/money trying to fix this when they could allocate those resources into new games/new DLC's that would bring in more money? That's how big corporations think.

While it makes sense in the short term, it does come back to bite them in the long run.

FINALLY!!! I renamed my save folder, loaded multiplayer, quit the game, deleted the new folder and renamed the old save folder back to Save, and it works! Thank you very much, Nematic.

Wow the save trick absolutely worked. After I did the trick I left back the save as they were and deleted my local profile and I was able to get back into multiplayer.

I got a Kyrsae for my trouble but no commendation pack :(. Quite sad, I want a valiant.

Nematic, you are my hero. If you were in my area, you're at least 21 years of age, and you like to drink, I would buy you 2 beers!

I just have no idea why save games and cloud storage are impacting access to multiplayer and it's a bug where overcoming it is totally non-intuitive. But at least there's a fix for it and now the devs can have a place to start looking.

Baaaaah. Once again, no progress.

To clarify, I've been able to do everything for multiplayer BUT play. Whenever I try to join a game or create a server, it freezes or hangs. If I wait long enough (generally 10 min+), it'll give me a 'lost connection to EA's server.'

Nothing to do with the internet connection. Bypassed router, and even then, brother's PC works fine. Repaired/Reinstalled a number of times, both Mass Effect and Origin. Checked for updates constantly, all of that. No firewalls or antiviruses up.

Nematic's trick worked like a charm. Thanks, Nematic! Unfortunately, this is only a small victory for me since I still can't download the DLC but progress is progress.

This worked for me. Though I didn't rename the folder, I cut its contents away, started the game, logged into the mp, exit the game then put the files back in. Remember to unable Origin's cloud storage.

Thanks for the tip! Glad to be back :D
