Ok the problem seems to be fixed on my end...

By launching the game normally and going to "Multiplayer" from the main menu, it would have a long loading screen and then eventually fail with the "Connection Lost" error.

I was talking to a friend on Origin and he said that his game was working fine with no issue. I told him some people on here said they could get into games by joining someone through Origin so I had him create a server. I then joined him through Origin and once the loading screen finished I had this screen...



I pressed continue and was presented with the Character select screen, I selected my character and then made it into the game lobby...



From here I was able to "Exit Lobby" and return to the main multiplayer menu. I tried joining a random game and it worked, I was able to voice chat with people in the lobby (ask them about the problem and they said they didn't have any issue with the game.)

I then exited back to the main menu of the game and tried going to "Multiplayer" to see if I still got the Connection Lost issue... I did not, it worked just fine. I then exited the game fully, restarted Origin, and launched the game normally. I again tried going to Multiplayer from the main menu and was able to successfully connect to the multiplayer main menu.



So just by joining someone else, all of my problems have vanished. I am unsure why, the only thing I can think of that could have changed was the fact that I closed that advertisement window for the new Rebellion Pack. I did have the connection lost issue after the game updated to the new patch without having the Rebellion Pack... If that window still displays even without having it that might be the issue.

Other people will need to test and confirm this... if you join a game through a friend on Origin will it fix the issue for you? If it does, it is possible only the people who have not joined a game after the recent updates have the problem and people who have joined games don't even know there is a problem. Or maybe I have bad timing posting this and they fixed something with the servers during my tests...

I already mentioned this on the previous page. I can join mp via a friend, but then I get an error I don't have the 2 dlc installed (which I do). So I'm left with MP vanilla. Which doesn't seem to work either since I can't seem to join any game either.

I have this issue as well... and have no friends on origin who are online...

Any other workaround, or am I doomed for being foreveralone.jpg?

Seems to work now via joining an origin friend. But there still seem to be massive connection issues, I only managed to play one game.

before i updated my origin to the "fixed one" (because i had the error where i could not launch the game) and update mass effect, i tried the "join to a friend" and now it works, lol at this

Welcome to the club. Update errors, game not launching, asking administrator's rights, download pausing and renewing in loop, then this, what kind of a patch was that...

In my case this bugs also happens in single player mode, it takes 30 to 45 seconds to load, and then the screen goes black. Does anyone have the same problem?!

Can any of you that have this working post your Origin name so I can join you in-game? I can't access multi-player at all, been trying since noon.

I can get in games ok sometimes, then get booted with the message after a match or 2. Also, buying from the store I get the message if I buy more than 1 item at a time, and often just when buying a single item.

Another work.  It seems to me that perhaps something with the patch or the DLC was not completely verifying and causing the game to disconnect from the server.  I was unable to play yesterday, so anyone who was, did the rebellion splash screen pop up yesterday after the dlc became available?  It could be that is what is causing the problem.
