 And I'm pretty sure it ain't the disc - I get "Installation failed - Data corruption" in different stages of the installation on Windows 7 / 64 Bit.

Neither directly from disc nor after I copied the files to harddisk does it work.

Pretty pi**es at the moment... :-(

You need to manually install the game if the installer fails, like it did for me as well look here: meforums.bioware.com/viewtopic.html.

this is the file thats corrupt on my CE cd and wont let my game be installed

My problem is almost identical to Kaorunandrak except my corrupt file is shale.fsb in the same section followed by the unexpected end of archive. I replaced my CE with a standard edition and it has exactly the same problem (there were no CE editions left) so what gives?

I have two files ...

collector's Editions ... I manually un-rarred the files to at least get in game, but I am having dialog problems so it may not be ideal.

I had to temporarily disable my Mcaffee viruscan and firewall to A:speed up the installation process and B: stop the installation from failing due to corrupt files.
