Perhaps it doesn't force you into a lobby of comparably-N7'd people, but if it finds one it will prioritize it?

N7 2464 and if my N7 rating has anything to do with it, it is the most stupid "fix" ever in a mp game. I've played with people of N7 under 100 which are very good players and with some higher than my own rating that are not that good.
We are not competing against each other so there is no need to make it a N7 equivalent level search for Quick Games! There is no Ladder and the priiiiiize is not that great either. I just want to have fun but Gold requires a full 4 members team for me. Please Bioware, undo the "fix"!

Even switching the difficultly to silver *shudder* doesn't fill any faster, and when it does, all the N7 rankings are often higher than mine. This isn't good at all, I don't mind carrying - and I'd rather take N7 < 100 than have to wait this long when hosting.
At least let the host have a setting to turn this new feature off.

That is a false RUMOR. There are just too many people who want to host. Thats why if does not fill up quickly. N7 rating doesnt matter.
You are absolutely wrong.
- It started to become hard to fill a lobby exactly when the patch was installed. Coincidence?
- Since then, EVERYONE that entered my lobbies and my friends lobbies are high level (our case). It never happened, ever!! the most common is between 200-500.
- There's a considerable number of complainers by now, describing the same situation, nobody enters public slots, when they do, they have a level close to the ones that are already in the lobby. The most recently: http://social.biowar...2020/1#12343182
Definetely something was changed, definetely it have to do with N7 level..

Frankly, I hate promoting. The level-up system should be entirely different. Players' N7 rankings should be based on how much they have played and on the weapons/equipment/characters that they have collected in multiplayer.
In addition, there should be a store setup entirely different than the current one. Players should be able to choose whether or not they wish to save, for example, 250,000 credits to buy a Black Widow, or just gamble on a Premium Spectre Pack and hope they unlock the same weapon for just 99,000 credits.
However, since BioWare will not listen to us...

To such an extent that several times now, I've basically been thrown into the exact same lobby consecutively. Log in once, find it's not filling up, okay, quit out and search again. Get thrown in exact same lobby. Sigh, quit out. Search again. Get thrown in exact same lobby again. Quit, buy some stuff in shop, redo appearance.. Search for games later. Get thrown in a match - ongoing - with guys from that exact same lobby.
For godssakes... So annoying.

Yeah, I'd say the matchmaking has been changed. Now almost always I get people with +- similar N7 rank to my own.

Yep, tis not a rumor, I can confirm that it's affected me since the DLC was released too. Before the dlc anytime I hosted a game it wouldn't take more than 1 or 2 minutes for the lobby to fill, regardless of setup. Now I can go on for well over 5 or 10 minutes without anyone joining.
If they really did implement an N7 matchmaking, I... HATE... IT. GET RID OF IT NOW! >
I also don't really buy too much into the "not everyone has downloaded the DLC" theory, since this didn't happened with Resurgence.

I'm level 1158 and I always host. All my lobbies today took a long time to fill, all with N7 level close to mine. Is this right? Now the lobbies are filled with guys that have a level close to yours?
I have two problems with it:
- Clearly it is turning extremely harder for me to fill a lobby, since it will keep looking for level close to mine. I have no problems playing with low level, but I have a big problem with empty lobbies, that will be always the case, since high level is far more rare.
- N7 level don't work, it means nothing, it don't bring balance. There's guys that play since day one, are good at it but still in level 120 to 200. It's a extremely bad and innefective way to measure which play should play with which.
Anyone can confirm if it is really a new feature? Or it's a big coincidence that only high level joined my lobbies today??
Edit: I stayed with a lobby open when I was writing the topic, Not even a single soul joined it, and today is DLC and patch release, so...
Yup, same here. It wasn't anything like that before the patch, so...

N7 rank does not represent the skill level so the only effect is I'm nearly spending more time in lobbies waiting for players than playing.
Well at least I no longer see Level 3 adepts with Saber I and Javelin I joining Gold matches.
I'll continue to gain data on this matter.

I hate this: since the patch the game with randoms has become unplayable
I have even got into a Hacked game where everything and i mean everything went down with 1 power/bullet (I left at wave 10 and took a screen without getting the credits-I think they were just kids and I don't mind em just didnt get the credits--any moderator feel free to pm me)
I wish everything went back to normal

Another reason not to promote, I'll stay in the 300s for awhile longer.
But if I now want to start playing tougher levels I'll have to promote alot I would guess?

That's all well and good for you but what about the rest of us already six, seven, or eight hundred plus? If you don't promote then we don't have anyone to play with!
