So I was told Reave can be picked up after recruiting Kaidan to the Normandy. I was skeptical as it was a paragon choice (this playthru I am Renegade) but figured it was worth it for the ability. But apparently I still haven't unlocked it.
I did some research and found a thread on gamefaqs where someone stated there is the possibility of your character getting bugged and not being able to pick up the ability at all for that specific playthrough. Is this true, or do I have to sit through a few dialogue sequences with Kaidan to get Reave?
Can't get Reave... am I bugged?

How long have you been playing? It's not something that just pops up after a few minutes of talking to him--you have to play well into the game for it to come up.
I have heard that it's glitched, but I don't know any details. The unfortunate part is that you won't be sure it's glitched on your game until well into the playthrough.

You have to talk to him in his quarters immediately after 'priority citadel.' That's the only time to get it.

No, not that far; about halfway through. I thought you had to have lunch with him on the Citadel for it to pop up, though--have you done that yet? And I assume you'd been giving him Paragon responses in your earlier conversations on Mars and in the hospital?

This. This is always the case, regardless of new game/import/previous friendship/romance.
You can find him in the observation deck Samara used to lurk.

No, not that far; about halfway through. I thought you had to have lunch with him on the Citadel for it to pop up, though--have you done that yet? And I assume you'd been giving him Paragon responses in your earlier conversations on Mars and in the hospital?
Yes for the most part. Although I went full renegade during the coup. But I went paragon and said I wouldn't have shot him if it came down to it when he was waiting by the Normandy.
