Yesterday was impossible to host a lobby. First I did two, all with high levels, then it just stopped to come. Clearly they changed something that has to do with N7 level, but I can't figured out exactly how it work, since I did a quick match, and I ended in a lobby hosted by a N7 600, with a mix of levels, after one match the lobby passed to me, and it was filled again with a randon mix. They added a new filter, for sure, but the rule have some exceptions, you still can end up in a mixed level lobby.
Same here, pretty much. I always host, Bronze or Silver. Personally I really don't care what N7 level other players are. But something has definitely changed since the patch, since it never took so long to get a full lobby. And pre-patch the lobbies were always very mixed. Now all I get is one or two players with a similar N7 level.
Maybe something was changed on the server end which coincided with the patch(and/or the DLC)...

Although the idea of most players not having downloaded the DLC makes sense so hopefully in a few days everything should work... fingers crossed. Did this happen back when the first DLC came out? I didn't play much multiplayer back then so I didn't get the first DLC until 2 weeks after it came out.

I was one of the people that had no problems and I NEVER waited more than 5 minutes to get a game rolling and the N7 was VERY mixed, so nope this didn't happen with the last DLC :/

It could be the system just prefers closer matched N7 levels now, rather than excludes disparate level games. Or it could just be chance. Interested to hear anything from developers about this.

yeah this is not true at all....
Oh good, another console user who can't read the dozen times it's stated that this is PC specific. And also thinks that he is the world. I don't have this bug means no one has this bug. I wonder how that works outside of computers. I don't have cancer, therefor cancer isn't real. Wow, I just cured cancer! Or I would have, if it was ever real to begin with!

If they made a change it would be in patch notes. If there is nothing there have been no changes. I cannot see why they would not document this in patch notes.
I've never met a programmer who didn't hate documenting changes and I've met quite a few. Imagine if you had to document every little thing you did in your job. It'd get old fast. So often times stuff gets left out by accident because they forget to document it. Sometimes stuff gets left out on purpose too, of course. I don't think this fits that category though.
There'a also the third option: it's an unintentional change. For instance they could have been working on a new matchmaking system and accidentally sent it live before it was ready.

I've tried to play since yesterday in the evening and simply can't because it takes too much time to get a full lobby.
Bioware please give us an answer

I would venture that if there is an N7 matching system in place, that everyone above a certain N7 threshold might just be in the same bucket. I did notice quite a few N7 1k+ yesterday, though that could be just the DLC bringing them out.
But I think N7 matchmaking is a terrible idea. There isn't the same need to matchmake in co-op games as in competitive games. I kinda like helping out "newbies" who are just getting their feet wet with MP anyways.

I was at N7 300 for the longest time (390 now after the promoting weekend - weep -), as it was a nice balanced number (Plus Spaaaaarta), and I've been getting saddled with nothing but 200-400 N7 players farming FBWGG. I don't think I've ever, ever before jumped into the same lobby twice, but now I can't seem to get away from the same group of people.
I seem to be stuck with the range of casual gold players who, at that N7 rating, prefer to farm something easy. This is absolutely ludicrous if in fact such a change has been implemented. I love a challenge, and finding nothing but farming lobbies is distressing.

its a OK feature, but needs to be OPTIONAL...
First we need bioware to tell us if this feature even exists or if it's just their completely messed up servers.

First R/R/G search of today... an N7~200 doing FBWGG. Someone else left as I joined, didn't see the N7. I left, searching again...
Unknown/Cerberus/Gold match. N7 210, N7 209. Waiting for fourth player. I'm N7 218 by the way. Whups, someone else joined with an N7~200 and left. Now host left, probably out of frustration of filling a lobby.
Edit-- woo, got into a gold with a 198, 180, and... a 1325.
Edit2-- figures that we'd get White/Geth and they'd run to the camping area.
Just found a lobby with cerberus/gold, 214, 120, 180.
Edit3-- anyone else running into the same people over and over? I guess the pool is that small right now. Before, I certainly might've seen a familiar name or two once a week, but I always wondered how large the PC playerbase was for me to have completely different people, each and every PUG. But running into the same three people (at least twice each) over the course of 24 hours? Two of those people being put into the same match with me just now?
If this were just caused by DLC/Patch discrepancies between players, you'd think I'd have seen one specific high N7 person more than once.

Yep. I've never run into the same people before, but today it seems impossible for me to join anything but the same 3 people trying to do FBWGG. Search times take forever. As much as I like the idea Bioware is trying to match the most suitable people up, doing it by N7 rating is a fools errand, and I'm sick of being stuck with farmers because I chose not to promote 50 times.
Edit: After applying a manual update to the game through Origin, it appears the matchmaking is random again. The past two games I've done the N7 ratings were no where in the ball park of each other.

I suggest all who posted here with the problem to do so and report back if the fix works for you as well.

Manual update? What do you mean by that? Right clicking the game through origin and checking for updates or is it something else?

On Xbox, by the way.
EDIT: PC only. I'm stupid.
