I'm in the mid-upper 300's and I get put in a lobby with N7's below 50!

I can join people with lowe N7 ranks than me, but people with lower ranks than me cannot seem to join my games unless I invite them.

This has been true for me for the last 24 hours or so.
I have never seen a single person join me when I host with a N7 rating lower than maybe a few points below my own.

I don't have any trouble joining games.
But, I did not enjoy several of the games I played because of laggy hosts.
Vanguard on a bad host, terrible.
Sniper on a bad host, not much fun. You think you miss the first black widow shot and just as you are about pull the trigger for the 2nd the head explodes and you fire the 2nd shot into thin air...

im 3100+ and host all the time and i usually get low N7 people, not a big deal.
except the last few days people just havent been joining like usual.

me and my friend have been spending so much time without other players we have just been doing 2 man bronze on public even after 3 or more games there is no joiners.
not even during the match.

the only people i kick are are leechers or turd disturbers, i could care less what gun or N7 people have as long as they are trying.

i have tried all the usual router, computer, and game/origin trouble shooting just in case it was me.
but it doesnt make a difference.

also it seems like 1 hour i cant get people, then a hour(s) later it back to normal.
so im convinced its server side issue, whatever that issue is.

Manual updated seems to have fixed it (or BW fixed somewhere else) or it was a low pool of players due to DLC... Anyways:

Got paired with people with wide range of n7 again, sadly as a side effect I found some people with a low N7 including one with n7 38 with a mantis 5 and no mods trying to do gold on a level 14 soldier... Ugh...

I mean I am a terrible adept and will end using my weapons more than my powers, but even as an asari commando with a Harrier/Mat, I do more than enough to pull my weight...

I've been playing with pretty much nothing but a range of 80-150 over a dozen matches. This is either the most extreme outlier I can imagine, or the matchmaking system has been changed. It's utterly ****ing maddening playing with an army of people who use Phalanx I and Disciple I and other incredible nonsense, and I swear, everyone and his mother tries to host on a 56k modem.

Heh last few games I played were with N7 200s. I'm 1200. Think you need a bigger sample size. 30 is usually enough for a good distribution statistically.

I am N7 810, and my brother is N7 1100. It takes 10 min for someone to join our lobbies since the 1.03 patch or Rebellion DLC went live. We've been running gold 3-man because it's not worth waiting so long for a fourth.  Yesterday, our random third died on wave 7, 8, 9 to a banshee magnet grab on Condor, so it was basically 2-man.

I don't mind carrying. I would rather have an N7 < 100 than have to wait this long for not just a full group, but for anyone to join. Please at least let the host have the option to turn this matchmaking setting off.

I know our group kicked a level 10 today on a gold lobby (N7 300ish)...but I have to say it is taking me FOREVER to find games after the patch. And I noticed a lot of lobbies have similar ranks. Can't say for sure all tho....

You appear to be a console player; the patch has not hit consoles yet.

I'm on PC and all day I have been put in random lobbies with players very close to my rating. Almost all team mates were 240-280, with only 1 player at around 400 and 1 in the mid 100s. This is from 10+ games.

Also, when I found a lobby I didn't like for whatever reason, I would leave it and then when I search for another one I get put back into the exact same lobby again. This happened on no less than 3 separate occasions, while it's never happened before this patch.

Maybe the effect is more pronounced for players in the 200 range because there are more of us, while those of you with ratings 2000+ might not have as many to pick from so you get placed wherever, but I am definitely noticing the matchmaking for me.

This is really a bad change. Grouping me with players at the same rating as me does not guarantee players of the same skill level, as n7 rating is no reflection of skill. All it does is limit my potential team mates to a small segment of the population, for no benefit at all.

Not sure if this is the reason, but I am having a lot harder time finding games, and I constantly get dumped back into the same lobby I left. It could be a lot of people can't connect, it could be a crash in player population, it could be some sort of server problems, it could be something else.

Manual update? What do you mean by that? Right clicking the game through origin and checking for updates or is it something else?

Yes, I don't see any way to manually update, and I'm having the same problem.... (I mean, it's installed already, I'm not finding an option to update or reinstall).

I kept getting thrown into the in-progress games of this obnoxious, laggy host who refused to complete objectives. I'd quit, search for a new game, and be right back in his game again.<_<

Finding a group seems slower since the patch for me too (PC)
And I played between 6am and midnight, a lot of ppls should be playing at that time Oo*

To BW: N7 means nothing after 120 anyway, please don't mess with it :s

Interesting hypothesis. I'm N7 910, and I found it odd that everyone during my five hours of playing today was between 870 and 970; EVERYONE, even on bronze. I also found it odd that with the new pack out, there weren't more players on: it was taking AGES to fill a lobby, and I got placed in a lot of silver and gold games with only one or two other people already in the game.

All of my matches were like this last night, either they took forever to fill, or when they did fill, everyone had similar N7 ratings.  The only time it was different was when I (3xx) played with a friend (1xx), then we ended up getting N7 1xx, 2xx, 3xx, 6xx in the same match. 

We also started the match with 3, thinking another would join... never did... but the 3rd player dropped out... then magically came back a round or 2 later... 

I used to start matches and solo the first few rounds... then people would start to join and all would be good.  I didn't try that yesterday, but I will tonight.  Based on yesterday, I suspect it will either take forever, or nobody will join.

This is weird. I did have this problem of only close N7s when I made my own lobby. When I did quick match, it never put me in a lobby with anyone close to my N7. I'm not sure how that works.

post-patch this morning i (N7 190 i believe) was paired with a 4500.

tho i did land in the same lobby 3 times while trying to avoid a kroguard.

I'm not playing much but, right after the patch/dlc I played in a lobby filled with only N7 500. I believe it was a first to me.
