I definately don't get how to play the phoenix classes yet, their powers seem to lack synergy to me.

That's my main issue, they really seem to lack synergy, but maybe I'll get used to it eventually, dunno.

Didn't the same thing get said about the batarians? Give it time, a group of players will crack the playstyle and make the class awesome.

Try 0/6/6/6/6. You're pretty much the Vanguard without Charge but you hit like a truck. You'll be able to take some punishment and deal your crazy damage. You can Smash through walls, just like Shockwave. Get the pierce through shields/barriers evolution on Lash. Makes Phantoms useless against you. You can lash pretty much everything except armored targets. Use line of sight to mess with enemies and smash them through walls.

Smash does pitiful damage? o.O It's only slightly less powerful than a frag grenade...

Smash with full biotic damage passives does 1175. Frag grenade, with full weapon damage passives, does 1200 (can put it at 1387.5 if you go full power damage). Pretty sure no other skill can top that.

Dude are you kidding? The Adept is awesome! It's way overpowered on Bronze, practically oneshotting everything! This guy is silver level or higher material! Watching enemies fly through the air is hilarious!

They could do with a slight health increase though. Maybe a melee damage upgrade too, Heavy melee doesn't seem to kill outright or maybe I'm still figuring out how it works.

You must be new here.  The forums are flooded with Gold  players, and that is the usual accepted standard.  Guns and characters are compared by what they can do on Gold on higher levels.  It is hard to understand how to be effective with this guy on Gold, in the later waves most enemies are shielded or armored.

I wrote about this class earlier today but I've continued to play it most of the day (only new class I unlocked, thanks RNG store!!) and more I played the more I realized...this class is awful.

Lash is a fun power but only really useful with the shield/barrier penetration. The problem with the power is that it throws the enemies past you a lot and you have to turn around and get shot in the back. The other problem is it takes a tiny bit longer to bob back into cover when using this power, and trust me on higher difficulties you get eaten alive, puked back out, eaten again, and crapped out. Although its amusing to have a phantom rush you and send that (#&*@#$ flying, the novelty soon wears off.

The smash power is wicked cool, a lot of fun to use when you're not getting killed. It does fair to moderate damage, with a frag grenade being both more powerful and having a better radius. The trick is it cant hit enemies behind cover, around corners, etc. Its fun to use, but not very practical. It's a CQC power with no real way to close with the enemy because...

...terribad health. This class, clearly, is built to get up close and paralyze the enemy with singularity, then vaporize them with smash. this is great on paper but getting close is the problem. Even with 6 points in fitness all geared towards defense and HP, enemies chew through your meager health allocation like its not there.

This class could still be saved, I would suggest a damage resistance or flat out invulnerability period when using smash - the charge up time has gotten me killed a lot. Enemies on gold smiply laughed in my face and I died.

Bioware, I love the new DLC, and I'm sure this class looked good on paper but in the actual game play its not really useful for anything but bronze. Silver and Gold you will die/make your team mates hate you because they're constantly running to revive you. The class feels sluggish and playing it makes taking on two or more basic enemies feel really risky. Needs buffing. Just a thought for next patch.

I score first or second every time I use mine I LOVE IT! :D but to each his own. Personally he's my favorite so far!

I thinks I've developed a good PA strategy. I did it on fb white but it can really be done on any map with a bottomless pit you can knock enemies into (I'm sure glacier would be amazing) Basically just skip smash altogether and go lash and singularity, then stand near the edge and throw a singularity in a door or other bottleneck type area, get behind cover with you back to the pit, and yanks those moths effers right off the cliff! Works like a charm, and when they're caught in singularity occasionally you can lash em and get you bio esplosion! :o

PA and vanguard are monsters.

Learn the lash mechanic learn it well!! Once thats down you can start learning how to lash enemies towards other mobs so that someone can detonate BEs in the crowd or just pull mobs to a more manageable spot.

If you lash straight towards you cancel the pulling animation with the heavy melee to whip em while they are still coming at you.

Half of smash is useless, once your whips are over you head cancel with heavy melee to AoE melee+smash mobs

Spam lash on everything that doesnt have armor.

Smash unsuspeting enemies of enemies on the other side of walls.

Lash spam phantoms until you can safely smash it or just whip off the map.

Smash is the only real issue. Lash is good. Could use an AOE effect, but that might be too much. Smash needs either invincibility frames or to have it's animation swapped with the heavy Melee. As is it's execution is just much too slow. I'd also like to see it's forward range buffed by at least a full meter.

I love it. I named mine Lenny and we prance about in silver one shot lashing trash mobs and smashing anything that get's close. As mentioned above 0/6/6/6/6 combined with a 200 cool down and you can easily finish second if not first.

Dude. NEVER start from the top when you're going into a situation with stuff you don't understand. You start from the bottom and work you way up. That's probably why people are getting frustrated.

Character is awsome. Work with a AJA with offensive bubble and use smash when anything enters and it doesn't last long :) had brutes and banshee's on hold dropping like flys on gold. Use singularity to slow down the small mobs and the explosion spec to damage anything. It's all about strategy and team work.

Lash is great. Smash is so-so. Singularity is still awful.

Really, Singularity needs to affect shielded targets like Stasis. After so many buffs, it still doesn't deserve a spot in a build. That's what's holding HA back from top tier. That, or just give him Warp and call it a day.

I would have to agree. Just cannot seem to figure this guy out. Especially, when you are the only biotic it is really irritating to not be able to detonate your own biotics other than singularity and lash/smash. This first 3 waves or so you are not bad but after that it is really a struggle. Did finish on top in a silver match with him but didnt feel like it came easy.

Either that or they need to make it just as fast as the heavy melee.

I was playing as a Justicar on gold with a Cerberus Adept earlier. One of the easiest gold runs I've done. We were tearing phantoms and atlases apart. He lashed the phantoms and I reaved them, boom. I reaved the atlases and he smashed them, boom. Having someone with lash on the team makes me so unafraid of phantoms.

I too am disappointed with the new human adept. I thought it would be a fun class. Aggressive close quarters adept class with his whip attack. But for some reason bioware insist on slowing your character movement speed down so much when throwing out the whip that it's difficult to make that attack successful on gold without taking massive amounts of damage. At least for me I found myself using slam more than anything. Now slam is great, because you can lift shielded opponents and phantoms. But it's still boring. Just my opinion though. Maybe I'll come across a vid with somebody kicking ass with it on gold.

I'm thinking that the Adept is crap aswell, but to be honest the skill set does look awesome. Yett Smash has a terrible range and Lash pulls enemies every which way; this class' skill set makes it seem like a CQB class but its difficult to pull off. However I've only played one gold game, and I don't want to judge it so quickly, I do want to like this class but it's hard.

Here it is. No matter what gets put into the game, baby krogan, legless asari whatever, there will always be tons of people who overlook or over compensate for the inate shotcomings because they want to love the class so bad.

check back in a month and see how many times you come across a ex cerb vanguard or adept opposed to the other choices.

Same here, I've tried it on gold and perhaps I am terribad with the personage or I didn't hit the right key with my build but I felt like a burden to my team.

Vanguard on the other hand is beyond awesome, my actual favourite vanguard alongside Mr. "Road Runner" drell.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I adore it and will likely end up maining it, but as is, the class DOES need work.
